Best Bet:

Race 6 No. 4 Zunna

The daughter of Zoustar registered some impressive efforts in jump out’s prior to making her racecourse debut here earlier this month.

Those efforts included a victory over 1000m in her final jump out which came on a good 4 surface at this venue last month.

The pick raced from off the pace on debut quickening up nicely in the straight to deliver a two-length victory in a 1200m maiden held on a good 4 track.

The youngster registered impressive sectionals in winning with what appeared to be plenty in hand that day and she looks ready for this step up in grade.

Phillip Stokes’ representative boasts a good barrier here and she looks capable of maintaining her unbeaten record with Daniel Stackhouse again set to ride.

Value Bet:

Race 8 No. 2 King’s Capital

The veteran is a seven-time winner with his most recent success coming in a Benchmark 0-68 handicap at a metro meeting at Morphettville in May last year.

The gelding raced over 1800m that day and he registered his best finishing position since then when making his debut for current handler Reece Goodwin.

The pick had been off the track for over two months prior to delivering a three length second in a 1400m Benchmark 64 handicap at this circuit two weeks ago.

The son of Animal Kingdom raced on the speed prior to losing out by three lengths in a nine-runner contest on that occasion.

The step up to 1600m here is a positive and the selection looks value to salute jumping from barrier nine.

Market Mover:

Race 4 No. 3 Zwasp

The gelding disappointed when only fourth at this track, having jumped at $1.75 for a 1200m maiden here last month.

However, Shea Eden’s representative put that effort behind him when placing third from a wide barrier in a 1000m contest at Cranbourne subsequently.

Ladbrokes punters expect another big effort here, with the gelding a $9 quote (opened $13).

Stats Say:

Jockey Blake Shinn currently holds a significant lead in the state Jockeys Premiership and he is in action with six rides on the card.

The rider boasts a near 32% strike-rate (60/190) at country meetings this season with all six of his rides here expected to start at single figure odds.

The pick of the six may well be Rosangela for Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr in the opener with the filly dropping in grade having debuted with a fifth in Listed company at Caulfield in November.
