A promising debut at Balaklava in June suggests Katrina's Legacy has the ability to make an immediate impact when returning from a spell, with the four-year-old gelding having shown plenty of early talent despite finding one rival too strong.
The son of Sandbar settled prominently over 1000m on Soft ground before finishing a length behind Polunin, with the pair drawing three-and-a-half lengths clear of the remainder in an encouraging first race-day appearance.
That maiden has since produced several useful form references, with Polunin subsequently placing in metropolitan company and the third and fourth finishers both going on to break through, strengthening the case for Katrina's Legacy to prove competitive at this level.
There should be natural improvement from that initial experience, while a recent third in a Balaklava jump-out has provided a suitable foundation for his return, suggesting the gelding can be competitive fresh.
Stacey Metcalfe reunites with Katrina's Legacy after partnering him on debut, and although barrier eight is less favourable than his original inside draw, the gelding's natural tactical speed should help him overcome that obstacle and make a strong challenge for his maiden victory.

That form has subsequently been strengthened by the winner returning to metropolitan company and finishing second, while Pocket Pyro had already displayed promise on debut when working home strongly to claim third over 1050m.
Both appearances have come on Good ground, but the filly has also won two jump-outs on Soft surfaces, providing encouragement that Wednesday's forecast conditions will be suitable as she steps up to 1400m.
Rochelle Milnes retains the ride after partnering Pocket Pyro in both previous appearances, and with the benefit of race experience, an encouraging form reference and the potential for further improvement, she looks well placed to open her winning account.

A return to provincial company could provide Royal Muse with an excellent opportunity to resume successfully, with the four-year-old mare having shown considerable promise when breaking her maiden at Strathalbyn in May.
The daughter of Showtime settled off the speed before finishing powerfully to score by almost two lengths over 1600m on Good ground, defeating eight rivals in a race that has subsequently produced several winners.
Her only appearance since that victory was a disappointing metropolitan effort at Morphettville, but the performance looks worth forgiving given the rise in grade, while the return to more suitable opposition should work in her favour.
Although her maiden success came on Good going, Royal Muse has previously placed on Soft ground, suggesting Wednesday's conditions should pose no major concern, while the drop to 1400m appears manageable fresh.
Two encouraging Strathalbyn jump-outs over the past month, both resulting in runner-up finishes, indicate the mare is progressing well ahead of her return, and with the benefit of a suitable race and a stable that has enjoyed success at Murray Bridge, Royal Muse appeals as a value chance.

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 7 No. 11 Jasstar
There has been more merit in Jasstar's recent performances than her overall results suggest, with the mare producing several competitive efforts at Murray Bridge earlier this preparation before finding conditions less suitable at Gawler last time.
The daughter of I'm All The Talk was beaten just over a length when sixth in Benchmark 58 company over this course and distance three starts ago, demonstrating her ability to handle Soft ground and remain competitive against similar opposition.
She followed that performance with a fifth in Class 1 company at Murray Bridge, before a disappointing effort over 1100m at Gawler, which is worth overlooking as she returns to her preferred 1000m assignment.
Barrier eight should present no major concerns for the Peter Nolan-trained mare, particularly given her familiarity with the venue, while a return to the shorter distance provides an opportunity to reproduce the stronger efforts from earlier in her preparation.
Apprentice Rose Hammond takes the ride for the first time and has enjoyed a productive season at Murray Bridge, and with Jasstar capable of being competitive under these conditions, the combination could surprise at generous odds in an open finale.
