Moonee Valley Value Bet - Race 1 No. 5 Ferocious Frankie

A full sister to Sierra Sue, Ferocious Frankie recorded a workmanlike debut victory as fav at Cranbourne before a spell and the runner-up from that May 16 event bolted in a fortnight later.

The three-year-old is the outsider in a small field for the opener at Moonee Valley, however, she's hardly despised in a very competitive early market and her work past the line was strong in a decent August 4 jump-out.

Icarian Dream (Group 3 winner) took out that heat, while a smart Planet Red (unbeaten and impressive fresh winner on August 13) and Saluted (two wins and two placings form four starts) filled the placings.

MSC Signs Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Moonee Valley Roughie - Race 4 No. 8 Morrissette

She's been consistent since joining the Reece Goodwin stable last spring, with three victories recorded for the new yard and includes a last start triumph at Sandown when denying Bring Forth.

The prior Caulfield form through that runner-up reads well, as does the second-place finish two starts back behind She Said (won her next two attempts), where Morrissette covered ground and gave 4kg to the winner.

The daughter of Pierro resumed in April with a second to a progressive Half Yours (subsequent Listed winner) and while this is a rise in grade, it's not a vintage affair and she carries 5kg less from her August 3 win.

Moonee Valley Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Lincoln Rocks

His form was mixed throughout a short campaign over summer and autumn, where a second-up placing at Randwick split two disappointing efforts and the gelding was spelled an April 2 flop at Warwick Farm.

The Neasham & Archibald yard have switched Lincoln Rocks south and that could be key to this seven-year-old, as most of his form (all five wins) have come when racing in the anti-clockwise direction.

Lincoln Rocks hasn't finished out of the money in five Victorian runs (two wins and three placings) and he's shown a love for Moonee Valley, with two victories and a narrow defeat in second via his three previous tries here.

Paramount Liquor Carlyon Stakes Tips (Race 7)

Moonee Valley Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Oak Hill

He appears ready for the climb to stakes company now and Moonee Valley is a great venue to get on the board at black-type level, with four wins and a second recorded from five attempts at this track.

The last of those triumphs came via his August 9 resumption and given he was slow away before sustaining an early move, there was a touch of arrogance to that fresh display and his second-up record does read well.

There is more depth to this field, with the addition of Baraqiel (class runner, but has had setbacks and no 1000m form), Golden Boom and New York Lustre (both very capable), but Oak Hill looks up to the challenge.

Moonee Valley Best Bet - Race 9 No. 12 Stoli Bolli

While 1000m proved a touch too short in his return assignment, Stoli Bolli looked the class horse of the his August 9 event and there was plenty of merit to that recent first-up performance at The Valley.

In a sprint where the leader dictated and the runner-up had a final surge off a softer run in transit, the son of Deep Field was forced to come the rear and wide without a rival taking in him into proceedings.

There was strong form around his first campaign, which includes a two-length success over this track/trip before being stakes placed and his spring culminated with a competitive run in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.
