Saturday racing shifts to Eagle Farm for a full ten-race card, with benchmark contests and feature handicaps shaping as a competitive Brisbane program.

Beyond the meeting preview, the Group 1 Futures Markets offer a look ahead to the season’s major targets across the country.

Eagle Farm Tips February 14

Racecourse Village BM78 Handicap Tips (Race 2)

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 2 No. 5 Vindicta

The five-year-old is a proven performer at this venue, including recording a victory in a course-and-distance Class 3 handicap at the start of the season.

He won by over half a length that day and, while that effort came on Good going, he has shown a liking for wet surfaces in the past.

The son of Rothesay’s wet-track efforts include a win by over two-and-a-half lengths in a Class 4 handicap over this distance at the Sunshine Coast in September.

He triumphed on a Soft 5 surface when making all the running that day and was spelled following a fifth over the same track and trip the following month.

The gelding trialled well ahead of his return to action at the Sunshine Coast last month, and with conditions to suit here and barrier eight unlikely to pose an issue, he looks value to score under Emily Lang.

Sky Racing BM70 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 4 No. 3 Runwiththetide

While unable to win on the forecast Soft going in the past, the gelding has managed six top-three finishes from ten outings on the surface.

Those efforts include a defeat by less than a length when third in a 1110m Benchmark 70 handicap at Doomben in September.

He backed that effort up with a fourth-place finish, beaten just under one-and-a-half lengths when stepped up to 1200m at Toowoomba in Benchmark 78 company.

The son of Headwater was spelled following a fifth over the same distance here in October.

He performed well in two trial efforts last month, finishing second on each occasion, including on a wet track over 1050m at Deagon, and with a strong first-up record he is capable of surprising.

Girls Day Out 7 March Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 John Rambo

Tony Gollan’s representative has been running well this preparation, resuming with a fourth in a Benchmark 85 handicap at Doomben over 1110m on wet ground.

Two of his subsequent efforts resulted in top-three finishes, including a third over 1300m in the Magic Millions QTIS Open at the Gold Coast.

He was beaten just one-and-a-half lengths in that race before finishing fifth over 1200m at the same venue a week later after drawing wide.

The six-year-old acquitted himself with credit that day and now draws barrier two for this contest.

Four of his five career wins have come on Soft going, and with Cejay Graham partnering him for the first time, he is well placed to return to winning ways.

Cricks Highway Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 9 No. 7 Tiger Tie

The Harry Angel gelding ended his last preparation with a fifth-place finish over this course and distance in a Benchmark 70 handicap at the end of August.

He trialled with a win here in December and has performed well in his two starts this preparation, winning on both occasions.

The first of those saw him come home in front in a small-field 1000m Benchmark 82 handicap at Ballina last month.

He then stepped up to Benchmark 90 level here two weeks ago and completed the double.

Tiger Tie made all the running to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths, and with Tahlia Fenlon again claiming two kilograms from barrier two, he looks capable of delivering a third consecutive victory.
