Historical trends over the past 2 seasons say that Fremantle are likely to surpass 100 pts while Richmond will struggle in the matchup both in attack and defence. The Tigers had no answer to the run of the Suns last weekend and that tall forward target. Now they need to defend a Dockers forward line that has multiple tall targets that can get up the ground.

In their lone matchup last season, Fremantle had immense pressure in their forward half, laying 16 tackles Inside 50 while taking 17 Marks with ball in hand. The expectation is that a similar narrative plays out this time around with the Tigers roster largely the same.

Josh Treacy loves this matchup, he has kicked 15 goals in 3 games against the Tigers over the past 2 seasons. His ability to take marks above his head and find space has meant he has become the main target and the most prolific goalscorer for the Dockers in a long time.

Take the Dockers to surpass their Team Total of 95.5 pts as well as the Game Total going Over 144.5. Stay away from the line given how big it is, too much variance. Josh Treacy goal ladders is the best player prop but at least 3+ majors. Andrew Brayshaw 30+ touches is something to keep an eye on.

The Dockers have scored 100+ pts in 3 straight games against Richmond. The Tigers average 99.2 pts per game to opponents since the start of the 2024 season.
Both teams average Game Totals of 160+ pts over the last 3 seasons and all 3 of the most recent games have smashed this total.
Josh Treacy kicked 4 goals last weekend and in his last 3 games vs Tigers has had 6, 5 and 4 goals.
Andy Brayshaw has had 30+ disposals in 3 straight games vs Richmond. He had 39 last week in the big win over Melbourne.

Head to Head Stats

Fremantle have won 3 straight against Richmond but since the start of 2019 the ledger is 4-4.

6 of the last 8 games have gone Under the Game Total while the winning margin in the last 3 games has been 50+.

Fremantle Dockers Form Analysis

The Dockers stretched their legs last weekend against the Dees after a tough loss in Round 1 vs Geelong. A 118-70 scoreline underpinned what many thought the Dockers would be able to achieve this season with a young forward line growing in confidence.

Josh Treacy kicked 4 goals and had 10 marks while Isaiah Dudley kicked 3 as the small forward. Shai Bolton had possibly his best game as a Docker with 2 majors, 32 Disposals and 9 Clearances.

Freo led from start to finish and dominated in most all statistical metrics, strengthening the narrative of their pre-season prediction.

Richmond Tigers Form Analysis

The young Tigers were touched up by the flying Gold Coast Suns last weekend 128-60 after a confident start, going down by just 4 points to the Blues in Round 1.

Richmond were unable to stop the run of the Suns as they allowed 61 Inside 50’s to their opponent, despite winning the Stoppage Clearances 24-15.

Jayden Short led all on ground with 33 Disposals while Seth Campbell kicked 3 goals from the front.
