It's been an outstanding breakout season for Eala - she's broken into the top 20 and claimed her first WTA 500 title in Washington, beating three top 15 players along the way.
However, it hasn't been a great Asian swing.
Eala lost her opening matches in Singapore and Wuhan to Tatiana Prozorova and Han Shi - two players ranked outside the top 175, while she was ousted in her second match in Ningbo last week by Diana Shnaider.
The 21-year-old managed to win her Tokyo opener against World No. 411 Mika Stojsavljevic 6-1 6-2, but she was helped considerably by the 17-year-old's whopping unforced error tally of 41.

Gibson truly announced herself during the Sunshine Swing in March, where she won 11 of 13 matches across Indian Wells and Miami, taking five top 20 scalps over the likes of Naomi Osaka, Jasmine Paolini, Iva Jovic, Clara Tauson and Ekaterina Alexandrova.
The 22-year-old is still working on her consistency, but it's been an impressive Asian swing, with Gibson going 7-4, finishing runner-up in Singapore to Leylah Fernandez before a quarter-final in Osaka.
Gibson raced out of the blocks to win the opening eight games of her Tokyo first round against Daria Kasatkina before closing out a 6-0 7-5 victory.
