Nick Kyrgios makes his long-awaited return at the Boss Open in Stuttgart, facing Corentin Moutet in a compelling first-round match. Kyrgios, coming back from multiple injuries and currently without a ranking, will test his grass-court prowess against the seeded Frenchman. Both players have a history of tight matches on grass, with stats suggesting a high chance of at least one tiebreak. Given Kyrgios’s unpredictable form and Moutet’s recent struggles, the safest prediction is to expect a close contest featuring at least one tiebreak.

Nick Kyrgios vs Corentin Moutet Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Anything could happen at the Boss Open on Tuesday as Nick Kyrgios returns to action against the enigmatic Corentin Moutet in the first round in Stuttgart.

Kyrgios is playing just his 11th tournament since making the Wimbledon final in 2022. The Aussie has been struck down by various injuries, undergoing multiple surgeries on his knee and wrist over the last few years.

As a result, Kyrgios has barely played and comes into this clash without a ranking, taking a wildcard into the ATP 250 for the start of the grass swing and perhaps with hopes of impressing ahead of Wimbledon.

However, at the end of the day, Kyrgios remains a part-time player that does this for fun. It would be a disaster of Moutet failed to win this match - although the Aussie could be dangerous on the slick Stuttgart lawns if he has a good serving day.

I'm steering clear of any outright winner or games line predictions. I think Kyrgios can keep the score relatively close on grass and backing at least one tiebreak seems like the best play.

But even that is a low-confidence play with a small stake - you just don't know what you're going to get from Kyrgios and there's zero sample size from recent outings to go on.
  • Kyrgios has a 36-19 tour-level record on grass
  • Kyrgios has played 1+ tiebreak in four of his last five Stuttgart matches
  • Kyrgios has played 1+ tiebreak in seven of his last nine grass matches dating back to 2022
  • Moutet has played 1+ tiebreak in his last three Stuttgart matches
  • Moutet has a 14-13 tour-level record on grass

Kyrgios vs Moutet Head To Head

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Nick Kyrgios Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 0-1
  • ATP Stuttgart Record: 5-4
  • ATP Ranking: -
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 13 (2016)

Kyrgios has played just one singles tournament in 2026, which ended in an opening round defeat to Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets at the Brisbane International.

Clearly not ready for the demands of five-set tennis, Kyrgios didn't opt for a wildcard into singles at the Australian Open, but did feature in the doubles and mixed doubles, while he also competed in an exhibition in Las Vegas in February.

Simply playing for fun at the moment, Kyrgios has accepted a wildcard into Stuttgart, where he will test out his game and potentially see if there's any realistic shot at some sort of serious comeback.

Kyrgios is a two-time semi-finalist in Stuttgart and obviously a dangerous player at his best on grass, where he made the Wimbledon final in 2022.

Corentin Moutet Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 6-12
  • ATP Stuttgart Record: 1-2
  • Current Ranking: No. 36
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 30 (April 2026)

It's been a rough season so far for Moutet, but somehow he's maintained a ranking inside the top 40 and managed to snatch a seeding for Stuttgart.

However, that just means Moutet has lots of points to defend coming up for the remainder of the season, so he faces a big challenge to remain in the top 50.

The Frenchman hasn't won back-to-back matches since reaching the third round of the Australian Open in January and is coming off a five-set opening round defeat to Vit Kopriva at Roland Garros.

Moutet has competed in Stuttgart twice before, going out in the second round last year to Alexander Zverev. He has a positive 14-13 grass-court record at tour-level.

Tough to call, but I'm backing at least one tiebreak and Kyrgios doing enough with his serve on grass to push this over.
