Second seed Jack Draper continues his HSBC Championships title quest at Queen's Club on Wednesday when he meets Australia's Alexei Popyrin for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Draper has been one of the standout players on tour so far in 2025 - in fact, I'd go as far to label him the third best behind Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The pressure's on over the coming weeks, with Draper now a genuine chance to contend for major silverware, especially on his home lawns at Wimbledon. But for now, Draper is focusing on capturing a second grass court title, with the Brit having scored big wins over Sinner and Alcaraz at this tournament in the past.

Popyrin is capable of beating anyone on his day, but he's not had great success on grass. Indeed, the Aussie has never made a quarter-final on this surface and he's not been at his best all season long. Draper won their last meeting in straight sets and should be set for a similar sort of victory here.

It's been a brilliant season for Draper so far, coming into this clash with a 26-7 record and rising to a career-high No. 4 in the world (currently No. 6 after his Stuttgart title points dropped off from last year).

The obvious highlight for Draper was capturing his maiden Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells, where he defeats Carlos Alcaraz along the way.

Draper was also a runner-up in Madrid and made the fourth round of Roland Garros, where he suffered a surprising four-set defeat to the enigmatic Alexander Bublik.

Opting to bypass his Stuttgart title defence last week in order to rest up for his home tournament, Draper got his Queen's Club campaign up and running with a 6-3 6-1 demolition of Jenson Brooksby, winning 27/29 first serve points.

Alexei Popyrin Form

It's been a tough season for Popyrin, who comes into this clash with a negative 12-13 record, but also at a career-high ranking of No. 21.

However, that ranking is misleading as it takes into account Popyrin's stunning run to the Canada Masters in August last year.

Popyrin is currently No. 49 in the ATP Race, which is an accurate reflection of his 2025 form.

The Aussie's best stretch of form came recently when he made the Geneva quarter-finals and the fourth round of the French Open.

Popyrin hasn't fared great on grass with a 24-25 career record on the surface, failing to make a quarter-final on the surface and losing to Zizou Bergs in the opening round of s-Hertogenbosch last week. The 25-year-old managed to edge out compatriot Aleksandar Vukic in a deciding set tiebreak in his Queens opener.
