Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Minimal goals backed for Group H clash

Uruguay, two-time World Cup champions, face Saudi Arabia in their Group H opener at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. Despite missing star forwards Suarez and Cavani, Uruguay remains the favorite with Darwin Nunez set to lead the attack. Saudi Arabia, under a new coach and with poor recent form, are considered outsiders. The recommended bet is Uruguay to win with under 2.5 total goals, as their recent games have been low scoring. Live stream is available via bet365 for eligible users.

Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Uruguay will be looking to launch their World Cup campaign with all three points when they face a struggling Saudi Arabia side in Group H action at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Monday.

Uruguay have rich World Cup pedigree, winning twice in 1930 and 1950, while they also reached the semi-finals in 2010 and quarter-finals in 2018 before a group stage exit at Qatar 2022.

However, goals have been hard to come by for Uruguay lately and this will be their first World Cup since 2002 without record top scorers Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani. That means much of their attacking threat will fall on the shoulders of Darwin Nunez, while Real Madrid star Dani Valverde is the standout player.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will be looking to spring a shock like their tournament opener in 2022, where they stunned eventual champions Argentina. However, the Saudis have been in poor form lately, appointed a new coach just two months ahead of the tournament and their lone win of 2026 came against unheralded Puerto Rico.

Can't see Saudi Arabia claiming another upset win here. Uruguay aren't at their attacking best, but they still possess far more quality. I'm backing Uruguay to win, with Under 2.5 goals and BTTS - No as the best bets. Nunez is the most likely to find the back of the net.
  • Uruguay are unbeaten in eight of their last nine games
  • Saudi Arabia have lost four of their last six games
  • Saudi Arabia have seen BTTS - No in eight of their last 13 games
  • Uruguay have seen Under 2.5 goals in 18 of their last 23 games
  • Saudi Arabia have lost 68 per cent of their World Cup games since 1994
  • Darwin Nunez scored five goals for Uruguay during qualifying

Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay Head To Head

Both sides have won once and drawn their three previous meetings. It was Uruguay who prevailed 1-0 when the two nations met in the 2018 World Cup group stage.

Saudi Arabia Form Analysis

Saudi Arabia have made the knockout phase of the World Cup only once, but that did come on North American soil in their debut appearance in 1994.

The Green Falcons qualified for the World Cup fairly comfortably, but there's been turmoil since, with three friendly defeats and new coach Georgios Donis appointed just two months ahead of the tournament.

After three consecutive defeats to Egypt, Serbia and Ecuador, the Saudis managed a 3-0 win over Puerto Rico before a 0-0 stalemate with Senegal last week.

Saudi Arabia Team News

Only one of Saudi Arabia's 26-player squad plays club football outside of the country.

Nawaf Al Aqidi is injured for this game with a muscle complaint. Salem Al-Dawsari is the captain and leading scorer for the team with 34 goals.

Firas Al-Buraikan was top scorer in qualifying with five goals, but hasn't scored in his last six international appearances.

Uruguay Form Analysis

It was a fantastic start to the qualifying campaign for Uruguay after they beat the likes of Brazil and Argentina, but they ultimately failed to win nine of their final 12 games - although they had the runs on the board and still qualified relatively comfortably.

Two-time winners of the World Cup, Uruguay are always tough to beat on this stage and will fancy themselves to emerge from Group H, along with Spain.

As mentioned, goals have been hard to come by lately for La Celeste - they've only scored four times in their last five outings, drawing three games against Algeria, England and Mexico, along with a heavy 5-1 defeat to USA.

Uruguay Team News

Jose Gimenez (ankle), Ronald Araujo (calf), Giorgian de Arrascaeta (calf), Matias Vina (muscle) and Sebastian Caceres (head) are all battling injuries ahead of this opening game.

Federico Valverde is the main man in midfield and Darwin Nunez will lead the line up front.
