Rosehill Gardens takes centre stage for Golden Slipper Day 2026, headlined by Australia’s premier two-year-old showpiece on Saturday, March 21 with one of the strongest programs of the season featuring five Group 1 contests.
The celebrated meeting is anchored by the $5 million Golden Slipper, while the Ranvet Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, George Ryder Stakes and The Galaxy combine to deliver the most Group 1 races on any Australian race day, adding elite weight-for-age depth, classic three-year-old form and high-pressure sprinting class to a standout Sydney Autumn Carnival card.
Below, the fields and barrier draws are confirmed for the Ranvet Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, George Ryder Stakes, Golden Slipper and The Galaxy, while a link to all lineups for the full race program is also included.
Ranvet Stakes
Aeliana (barrier 4) has not won since her Australian Derby romp last autumn; however, the mare has continued to perform competitively at Group 1 weight-for-age level, including runner-up finishes in the Winx Stakes and the Makybe Diva Stakes earlier in the season.
Second-up this campaign on February 28, the Chris Waller-trained mare finished runner-up to the smart and unbeaten Autumn Glow over a mile, improving off a 1400m resumption a fortnight prior in the Verry Elleegant Stakes.
Sir Delius (barrier 6) was well held in that same event when resuming, but it was still a pass-mark effort for the son of Frankel, who is expected to improve stepping out to 2000m.
The entire’s last Group 1 victory came over this distance in the Turnbull Stakes, where he accounted for a strong field that included Aeliana, while he has also won two of his three second-up attempts at the top level.
Lindermann (barrier 3), a six-time Group winner, had excuses when below his best last start with cardiac arrhythmia detected post-race, while Stefi Magnetica (barrier 1) and Trinity College (barrier 2) both bring strong form profiles, with the former a dual Group 1 winner with proven third-up success and the latter an import who was fair on Australian debut and holds a Group 3 victory over this trip at Royal Ascot alongside a Group 1 placing over 2400m.

Rosehill Guineas
Observer (barrier 2) followed an unlucky third in last year’s Caulfield Guineas with four straight victories, including two at Group 1 level, highlighted by his latest success when scoring by half a length in the Australian Guineas.
The colt had already proven his credentials over longer distances in the spring, winning both the Victoria Vase and the Victoria Derby, and the rise to 2000m looks a natural progression third-up this preparation.
Autumn Boy (barrier 3) resumed with a solid effort in the Hobartville Stakes before finishing runner-up to the classy Sheza Alibi in the Randwick Guineas, with the step up in trip expected to suit at this stage of his campaign.
While untested at 2000m, the Chris Waller-trained colt shapes as though he will appreciate the rise in distance given his recent performances against strong opposition.
Green Spaces (barrier 8) has not featured in two runs this time in but may improve stepping up to 2000m, while Victorious Spirit (barrier 7) has been competitive behind Observer in both the Autumn Stakes and Australian Guineas and continues to build through his preparation.

George Ryder Stakes
Autumn Glow (barrier 7) has stamped herself as one of the most exciting gallopers in Australia, remaining unbeaten through 10 starts, a sequence that includes her latest Group 1 victory when defeating Aeliana in the Verry Elleegant Stakes on February 28.
The Chris Waller-trained mare remains around a similar distance range for this third-up assignment, with only a slight drop back to 1500m, which is unlikely to pose any concern given her versatility and sustained turn-of-foot.
Lady Shenandoah (barrier 1) is still working back towards her peak after a standout three-year-old season that yielded three Group 1 victories, with encouraging signs this preparation following back-to-back third placings.
The mare made ground from a wide draw in the Canterbury Stakes last start after a solid first-up effort in the Expressway Stakes, and the rise to 1500m appears suitable third-up.
Pericles (barrier 9) brings strong recent form off a Futurity Stakes victory, while fellow Group 1 winners Beiwacht (barrier 12) and Gringotts (barrier 8) add further depth, with the former a dominant Golden Rose winner at Rosehill in the spring and the latter successful in this race last year.

Golden Slipper
Paradoxium (barrier 18) strengthened his Golden Slipper credentials with an all-the-way win in the Todman Stakes at Randwick on March 7, building off a prior victory in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic before a short break.
The Bjorn Baker-trained colt had also impressed in a recent Rosehill trial and still appears to have upside heading deeper into the autumn with just one run this preparation.
Chayan (barrier 12) enhanced her claims with victory in the Reisling Stakes on the same program, improving sharply after finishing seventh in the Blue Diamond Stakes and comfortably accounting for Agrarian Girl (barrier 20) and subsequent Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Spicy Miss (barrier 5).
Warwoven (barrier 14) continued his progression with a win in the Pago Pago Stakes, having returned with a solid Skyline Stakes effort after being scratched from the Magic Millions, while Streisand (barrier 11) brings leading Victorian form off successive wins, including the Blue Diamond Stakes.
Closer To Free (barrier 17), Guest House (barrier 10), Stretan Ruler (barrier 13) and Pembrey (barrier 19) also feature among the key chances, with the latter a Magic Night Stakes winner who adds further depth to an open two-year-old contest.

The Galaxy
Briasa (barrier 14) shapes as a key contender in the 2026 Galaxy despite carrying top weight of 58.5kg, with the gelding bringing strong Group 1 credentials into the sprint feature.
His spring campaign tapered off in The Everest and Russell Balding Stakes; however, he had earlier produced a second-up victory over Jimmysstar after finishing runner-up on return.
The gelding was also unlucky in last year’s edition of this race when a wide draw proved costly, while his Group 1 success in the TJ Smith Stakes last autumn highlights his class at this level.
Grafterburners (barrier 8) continues to progress through the sprint ranks and benefits with a light weight, having won three of his past four starts, including a sharp victory over 1100m during the Magic Millions Carnival.
Bridal Waltz (barrier 7), Generosity (barrier 17) and Marhoona (barrier 10) all bring strong form lines, with the former a consistent performer, the latter a recent Challenge Stakes winner, and Marhoona returning to the scene of her Golden Slipper triumph from last year.
