The next Australian Federal Election will see Anthony Albanese and his Labor party looking to secure another term in office following their triumph in 2022.

With the election due to take place in or before 2025, Ladbrokes have made Labor the favourites to win once again at $1.53, but are they the party to back as the election draws closer?

Labor at the favourites to secure another term in office by winning the Australian Federal Election at $1.53, but they are not far ahead of the Coalition at $2.45. Any other party is priced at $81.00 with Ladbrokes, with the bookie clearly making this a two-horse race between Labor and the Coalition.

In 2022, Labor won a total of 77 seats with the Coalition winning 58, seeing them lose their grip on 19 seats. Meanwhile, the Greens secured four seats.

Bookmaker Palmerbet are also offering bettors the chance to wager on the year in which the election will take place. The election must take place in or before 2025, with the only option away from 2025 being the year 2024.

The current favourite in the betting is the year 2025 at $1.40, with 2024 next at $2.50.

The next election will see Albanese leading Labor against Peter Dutton and his Liberal/National Coalition and the Greens and Adam Bandt. If Albanese is to win, then it will be the second straight term in office for Labor and their leader.

While Labor to win and the year 2025 for the year of the next election are the favourites in the betting right now, things can change quickly. This simply means that you could bet one day at short odds only to find they have drifted considerably, while you may wager on the outsider in the betting and find they then shorten considerably.
