South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Brisbane Broncos NRL 2026 Round 15 FAQ’s

The reigning premiers are on the ropes after losing 5 straight matches and are in the middle of the hurricane that is Origin outs, while also managing injuries. A look at their 17 and you can’t be blamed for thinking it is a QLD Cup side with a couple first graders making a cameo.

The shake up might be what Michael Maguire needs to get some force back into his side and coming up against the Rabbits who are going through their own three-game drought could be what they need, but I can’t back that list to get the job done.

South Sydney still have the class in Cody Walker, David Fifita and Alex Johnston and will be able to cover as a converted try favourite. Points during this period are often well over or well under and at 49.5 it is a real flip of the coin. I will in this case play the band between 39-59 points. We could see shots from both sides or a runaway from Souths.

Cody Walker needs to take control of this match for the Rabbits and dig them out of their burrow with a swing of form. The Rabbits biggest weapon is Fifita and finding him on an angle will hand the second-rower his second try in two matches.

Souths have won their last 2 matches against Brisbane at Accor.
The last 3 Brisbane matches have had a game total between the 39-59 band.
The last 4 Souths games have fallen within the 39-59 game total points band.
David Fifita scored in his return from injury last week.

Head to Head

The latest meeting between South and Brisbane was heavily one-sided with the Bronocos kicking away to a 60-14 victory in Round 22 last season. The Rabbits did get up 22-14 in wet weather earlier in the season in Round 10.

Brisbane hold a 3-2 edge in their last 5 head to head meetings.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Form Analysis

Souths have been in trouble since Latrell Mitchell injured his back, losing their last 3 matches with their attack as stale as a slice of 5-day old white bread. The Rabbits have scored just 42 points over their three losses while conceding an average of 30 points per game.

David Fifita made an instant impact last week after returning from injury, which was one of the few positives to take out of their 28-14 loss to Manly. The second-rower scored his first try as a Bunny and had 11 runs for 89 metres and a line break.

Brisbane Broncos Form Analysis

There are some real worrying signs at Red Hill for the Premiers, who have now lost 5 straight and are now under the media microscope which never helps their cause.

Nothing puts Brisbane more under the pump than losing the derby to little brother Gold Coast which is exactly where Madge and the Broncos sit after going down to the Titans 23-28 on Saturday. Brisbane ticked all the stats boxes but couldn’t do anything to deny the Titans victory.

Attitude is a word that is getting thrown around in Brisbane with the Broncos conceding an average of 34 points over their last 5 matches and with their Origin stars in and out over the next month, the 2026 Grand Final winners might be looking at a run home well outside of the top eight.
