NRL Team Lists: Round 25


The NRL team lists for Round 25 are in, with a host of big-name returns and significant injury blows as the race for the finals reaches a critical stage.

Melbourne welcome back captain Harry Grant for their blockbuster clash with Penrith, while Tom Trbojevic returns for Manly after three games on the sidelines. Canberra regain Simi Sasagi as they fight to keep their finals hopes alive, while Newcastle welcome back Bradman Best and Jacob Saifiti.

Brisbane have suffered one of the biggest blows of the round, with Reece Walsh ruled out for the season due to a syndesmosis injury. Elsewhere, Parramatta regain Jack de Belin and the Dolphins have been forced to reshuffle their pack following an injury to Connelly Lemuelu.

Storm vs Panthers

Thursday 7.50pm at AAMI Park

Storm:

Captain Harry Grant returns from a hamstring injury at hooker, pushing Tyran Wishart back to the interchange.

Jack Howarth is also back from a shoulder injury in the centres, with Joe Chan moving to the bench, while Trent Toelau has been handed the No.7 jersey in place of Hayden Watson. Alec MacDonald returns from concussion on the interchange, with Jack Hetherington and Davvy Moale dropping to the reserves.

Panthers:

Young gun Casey McLean returns from a hand injury and takes over in the centres from Paul Alamoti, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Jack Cole has also been added to the interchange in place of Jaxen Edgar.

Raiders vs Broncos

Friday 6.00pm at GIO Stadium

Raiders:

Canberra receive a boost in their bid to keep their finals hopes alive with Simi Sasagi returning from a shoulder injury in the centres, pushing Savelio Tamale to the interchange.

Morgan Smithies is sidelined following a head knock, with Ata Mariota shifting to lock and Josh Papalii moving into the starting front row for his final home game as a Raider. Corey Horsburgh has also earned a recall on the bench.

Broncos:

Hayze Perham takes over at fullback after Reece Walsh suffered a season-ending syndesmosis injury against the Warriors.

Ben Hunt has been promoted to the starting halfback role, with youngster Thomas Duffy moving back to the interchange.

Friday 8.00pm at Suncorp Stadium

Dolphins:

The loss of Connelly Lemuelu to a hamstring injury sees Max Plath promoted into the starting side.

Jake Averillo and Brian Pouniu are the new faces on the six-man interchange, while Tevita Naufahu drops back to the reserves.

Eels:

Parramatta have made just one change to the starting side that upset North Queensland, with Jack de Belin returning at lock and Saxon Pryke shifting to the interchange.

Kelma Tuilagi also comes onto the bench, with Dylan Walker sidelined by a wrist injury.

Knights:

Bradman Best returns after two games out with a calf injury and takes the place of Dane Gagai, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Prop Jacob Saifiti is also back after missing six matches with a hamstring injury, pushing Cody Hopwood to the interchange. Veteran Tyson Frizell moves into the starting side for Francis Manuleleua, who will miss the game following the late onset of concussion symptoms.

Sea Eagles:

Manly receive a massive boost with star fullback Tom Trbojevic returning after three games out with a hamstring injury.

Clayton Faulalo shifts to five-eighth after Joey Walsh suffered a hairline fracture in his jaw during the loss to the Dolphins. Ben Trbojevic is also cleared to return from concussion, pushing Corey Waddell to the bench.

Prop Caleb Navale has been named on the interchange for his first NRL appearance of the season after returning from an ACL injury through NSW Cup last week.
