The Cowboys ended their offseason in a typical Dallas circus-type fashion losing one of the games best players to an NFC rival, while Philly lost a couple of stars on the defensive side of the ball but have covered well with young talent.

This game couldn’t be more clear cut in my opinion. Philly will control this matchup, just as they did in both contests last season and they will diffuse what Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offence throws at them. The Dallas offence might go ok this year if healthy, but it will take time and coming up against the league’s number two defence is not the way they would’ve wanted to warm up.

Saquon Barkley…. I don’t really need to say much more. The Eagles running back went for over 2000 yards last season and the Dallas defence, well was the fourth worst against the run last year. You bet Nick Sirianni is going to make sure that his men are setting the tone with the run once again and Barkley will be the star of the show for the Eagles all season long.

Well it has been a turmoil end to the offseason for owner Jerry Jones who said farewell to arguably the league’s best pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Packers just two weeks out from kickoff.

It was a shame because at least on the offensive side of the ball they made some acquisitions that have given them a boost. George Pickens gives them a dual threat down field with CeeDee Lamb still one of the best receivers in the business. At running back they picked up Bronco Javonte Williams who has shown promise as back who is also dangerous through the air.

Defensively the task is tough for the Cowboys, who conceded the second most points on average of any team last season giving up 27.5 points per game to their opponents. Dallas had nothing against the rush last season allowing an average of 137.5 yards on the ground per game in 2024

Well there is no better form in Week 1 than coming in as the NFL Champions for the year prior. It was an incredible year from Nick Sirianni’s men who destroyed the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Superbowl.

With the second-best defence in the NFL, which allowed 17.8 opposition points per game, the Eagles offence driven by offensive player of the year Saquon Barkley were able to control the tempo of their matches watching their RB1 have a record breaking season in Philadelphia with 2005 rushing yards on the year.

The Eagles defence did take a hit on the offseason losing Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Darius Slay, Isaiah Rodgers and Oren Burks, however they still have elite players at every position and have drafted well while holding onto their two Defensive Rookie of the Year finalists.
