Wyong stages an eight-race meeting on Thursday, October 29, with Blue Eyed Brigid tipped to win Race 8 following two eye-catching runs this preparation, a favourable barrier, and a weight drop. Regal Profit is the selection in Race 6, debuting after two impressive trials and boasting a strong pedigree. All The Way Mae is recommended in Race 7, having shown solid metropolitan form and suiting the sprint distance. The track is rated Soft 5 but could improve with the forecast, and each selection is supported by recent performances and advantageous conditions.

Wyong takes centre stage in New South Wales on Thursday, October 29, with an eight-race program offering plenty of opportunities for promising younger gallopers and established provincial performers.

The track is currently in the Soft 5 range, although the forecast is favourable and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Wyong Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 7 Regal Profit

Connections have been patient with Regal Profit, a three-year-old colt who was in and out of work throughout his juvenile season without making it to the races, but two impressive Warwick Farm trial victories in September suggest the Gary Portelli-trained debutant could prove worth the wait.

His September 15 hit-out was particularly encouraging, with the son of Capitalist cruising through an 816m heat in a sharp time of 47.91 seconds while having plenty in reserve, recording the second-quickest performance over that distance for the session, while Group 3 winner Willaidow was the only horse to go faster that morning.

There was just as much to like about his September 28 trial over 792m, with Regal Profit showing professionalism to take a gap between runners before being eased down late, and the form received a timely boost when runner-up Hit The Runway was desperately unlucky not to win at Hawkesbury on Tuesday.

The colt also possesses an interesting pedigree, being out of Still Reigning, a full sister to Group 2 Silver Slipper winner Time To Reign, whom Portelli trained, while their half-sister She Will Reign was a genuine star for the stable, winning two Group 1 races in 2017, including the Golden Slipper.

With two strong spring trials behind him, a pedigree rich in juvenile speed and plenty of professionalism already on display, Regal Profit looks well prepared to make an immediate impact over 1000m on debut.

Wyong Value Bet - Race 7 No. 4 All The Way Mae

All The Way Mae made an immediate impression when scoring on debut over 900m at Newcastle in May last year, producing a dominant performance on heavy ground before being spelled, although she was unable to build on that promising beginning during a three-run spring campaign.

The Kerry Parker-trained mare returned a more consistent performer earlier this year, attracting strong market support when resuming at Hawkesbury on April 14 and overcoming some obvious greenness to finish third of seven, setting the platform for a productive preparation.

She then produced a commanding victory over 1000m at Kembla Grange second-up before carrying that form into Saturday metropolitan company, where she landed a Rosehill Midway on May 30, while there was also merit in her June 27 effort at the same venue when beaten less than a length in Benchmark 72 company.

The strength of that latest form is particularly encouraging, with the second, third and fourth placegetters all winning in metropolitan company at their next appearances, suggesting All The Way Mae could possess the ability to progress beyond this level as a lightly raced four-year-old.

Although she can race keenly and still has a few quirks to iron out, these shorter sprint distances appear to suit her particularly well, and with Andrew Adkins having partnered her to that Rosehill success, along with an encouraging recent trial, she looks capable of producing a strong fresh performance.

Wyong Best Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Blue Eyed Brigid

Thursday shapes as an excellent opportunity for Blue Eyed Brigid to record her second career victory, with the Brad Widdup-trained mare showing enough promise throughout her three-year-old season to suggest there is considerably more to come from the lightly raced four-year-old.

The daughter of Farnan produced the highlight of her previous spring campaign when scoring impressively second-up at Hawkesbury last October, and she has returned this preparation with two eye-catching performances, beginning with a third at Kembla Grange on September 26 after recording the fastest closing sectionals of the race.

Two subsequent winners have emerged from that contest, and Blue Eyed Brigid was consequently well supported when starting favourite at Hawkesbury on October 15, where a wide barrier ultimately proved costly as she chased an all-the-way winner and finished a clear second, with the pair putting a sizeable gap on the remainder.

While that winner was hardly a standout, saluting at $31, Thursday's Benchmark 64 assignment looks no tougher, and the rise to 1600m third-up should allow Blue Eyed Brigid to reach peak fitness, particularly with Zac Lloyd now enjoying a more favourable draw from barrier four.

A 2kg weight reduction from her latest Class 1 appearance adds further appeal, and although she has shown the ability to handle rain-affected going, a return to firmer conditions could also work in her favour, leaving Blue Eyed Brigid with every opportunity to capitalise on two encouraging performances and return to the winner's circle.
