Race 7 No. 3 Tiz Time

Trained by Lloyd Kennewell & Lucy Yeomans, Tiz Time has finished in the first two in four of her six starts to date.

Both of her non-top two finishes came when racing first up, including when fourth in a 1112m Benchmark 64 handicap at Geelong last month.

The mare was beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths that day when making her first start since a seventh at Sale in October.

The daughter of Cable Bay had a valid excuse, having jumped from a wide barrier over 1200m in that Sale contest and she demonstrated improved form last time.

Tiz Time arrives here on the back of a defeat by less than a length when runner-up in a 1203m Benchmark 64 handicap at Kyneton earlier this month.

Luke Cartwright’s one-and-a-half-kilogram claim is a positive here and jumping from next to the rail, his mount looks capable of recording her second career win.

Race 8 No. 4 Whirlwind

The four-year-old has shown improvement with racing since finishing eighth in a 1400m maiden at Albury on debut in February.

A solid fifth when beaten less than a length over the same distance at Wangaratta followed, with Whirlwind breaking through for her first win at Benalla via her third outing.

The mare won by a narrow margin when racing on a wet track on that occasion and she returned to sound surface to salute in a Class 1 event here next time.

The daughter of Magnus jumped at $11 for that course and distance success and she arrives here on the back of a solid third back at Wangaratta at the start of this month.

The chestnut has apprentice Alice Kennedy taking four kilograms off her back here and with forecast underfoot conditions to suit, she looks up to overcoming a wide barrier.

Race 10 No. 14 Laugh With Me

The four-year-old lost out by a narrow margin when placing second in a Benchmark 0-58 handicap over 1450m at Kilmore in her second start this prep.

While unable to build on that effort since, she did deliver a solid fourth place finish in a Benchmark 0-58 handicap here two starts back.

Joseph Waldron’s filly returns to 1600m, having dropped back in distance at Ararat last time and she has been backed into $6 with Neds (opened $11).

Stats Say:

Blake Shinn currently tops the Victoria Jockeys Premiership with a 30-winner lead over nearest pursuer Jamie Mott.

The Champion Jockey elect has four mounts on the card, including two for the Anthony & Sam Freedman team and Shinn boasts a 36% strike-rate (12/33) this season with that stable.

The first of the Shinn/Freedman runners is Breeches in the opener, who has impressed in her two jump-out's since debuting with a seventh of eight at Mornington in January.

In the following race, Rhia looks to hold strong claims of recording a win on her first start since placing second in a 1400m metro maiden at Sandown in early February.
