Pinjarra Tips June 4

Tabtouch Past The Post Payouts Maiden Tips (Race 5)

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 5 No. 12 Mystic Chaos

She showed raw ability throughout four runs in her first campaign.

Mystic Chaos arguably should have landed a betting push at long odds on debut at Albany on November 2, where she was held up in the straight.

The filly could not atone in her subsequent three performances, but there was still enough to like from those efforts.

With further maturity needed, Mystic Chaos was spelled and resumed at Pinjarra on May 13, where she was continually shuffled back in the run, which proved costly.

Although never in winning contention, she got home nicely and ran the fastest final 400m of the event won by My Danny Boy, who had previously finished second behind smart galloper Bassett Hound before following that victory with a Belmont placing on May 27.

Hygain Edge Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Pinjarra Favourite - Race 6 No. 5 Morf

This son of Rommel has been a work in progress for the Luke Fernie stable.

He showed improvement with racing throughout his second campaign in summer, recording runner-up finishes both first-up and third-up.

The latter of those placings came in a Saturday metropolitan three-year-old event at Ascot.

Morf then led throughout when breaking through in a Bunbury maiden on January 21, a race that has produced two subsequent winners.

The May 13 resumption at Pinjarra is easy to forgive, as he was unable to cross and covered ground throughout, while Thursday's setup appears more suitable, with Morf looking the logical leader from barrier four.

Hahn 3.5 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Rock The Market

The trainer and jockey combination of Simon Miller and William Pike is striking at better than 29% this season.

Pike takes the fresh engagement aboard Rock The Market, a resuming mare who showed talent in five runs last year, and her recent trials are much better than they read.

She improved on three runner-up finishes to break through in an Ascot maiden on December 27, and the runner-up from that event, Poblano, franked the form by winning his next two starts.

The four-year-old was spelled after a third at Pinjarra on January 31, another strong form race through the quinella, with Magical Sequence winning three of her next four starts.

Urquharts Bluff, the runner-up from that January 31 event, won his next two Ascot appearances before adding a metropolitan victory at that circuit in March.

James Squire Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Strapping Prophet

We were with Strapping Prophet first-up at an each-way price and he just missed in that May 6 Ascot attempt.

It was a terrific resumption, with the gelding running the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals of that Class 3 event.

He followed that effort with another second placing while again recording the fastest closing sectionals in a 1400m race won by Herault.

That talented galloper was unable to complete a hat-trick as favourite at Belmont last Saturday, but still finished third and would be a very short price in this Class 3.

The rise to 1700m is an unknown, but both seven-furlong performances suggest the extra trip will suit, and while Strapping Prophet is getting low on chances after teasing punters since a brilliant maiden victory, he has clearly returned well.
