Morphettville Betting Tips June 21

Sportsbet Set A Deposit Limit Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 3 Starts Now

The gelding has shown a liking for this venue in the past, with a win and two seconds from four starts at Morphettville.

The four-year-old’s victory came home 1800m when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap held on a sound surface in early November.

Starts Now was spelled following a Benchmark 72 handicap fourth at Murray Bridge in January and he has performed well in two starts this prep.

The first of those efforts saw the gelding resume with a two-and-a-half-length second over 1400m when racing on the Parks course here just over a month ago.

He took a step forward when a close second via a 1600m Benchmark 64 handicap here two weeks later.

The son of Pierro raced on a Soft 5 that day and two of those who finished down the field in that event boosted the form by winning subsequently.

Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 4 No. 2 Showrunner

Travis Doudle’s gelding has been in good form of late, registering wins in three of his last four starts.

The exception came when bidding to complete a hat-trick stepped up in both grade and distance at Flemington two starts back.

Racing over 2000m for the first time, Showrunner failed to shine in finishing eleventh-of-seventeen in that Melbourne attempt.

The son of Showtime returned to winning ways in impressive fashion when saluting by nearly four-and-a-half-lengths at Gawler earlier this month.

He dropped back to 1700m for a Benchmark 58 handicap that day and the quicker going expected here is no issue, having won on good and soft in the past.

The drop back in distance shouldn’t pose too many issues, with the youngster having performed well over similar trips in the past.

Peter Elberg Funerals Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Morphettville Roughie - Race 6 No. 2 Subsix

The four-year-old showed good form earlier this season when winning twice over this distance, including on a wet track at Cranbourne in early September.

The gelding won by half-a-length when contesting a Benchmark 0-64 handicap that day and he went on to register a win at Sale two starts later.

Subsix was spelled following a sixth-place finish over 955m in a Benchmark 70 handicap at Moonee Valley in November.

Trained by Lloyd Kennewell & Lucy Yeomans, Subsix raced from the front prior to finishing fifth in a 1000m Benchmark 70 handicap at Pakenham first-up this prep.

The son of Fastnet Rock had a number of barrier trials prior to going down by just over three-and-a-half-lengths when racing from the front that day.

He's expected to have improved for that Pakenham effort, while Jake Toeroek is a positive jockey booking.

Grand Syndicates Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Oxford Blue

The son of Fiorente has been in good form across the border this prep, including when winning over 1717m at Sale at the end of March.

The three-year-old delivered a victory by just under half-a-length in a Benchmark 64 handicap that day.

Oxford Blue has registered a couple of good efforts since then, including when losing out by a narrow margin in finishing runner-up next time.

The gelding contested an 1800m Benchmark 70 handicap on the Heath track at Caulfield that day and he finished fourth on the main course there subsequently.

While the youngster could finish only ninth over 2000m at Flemington last time out, he has been freshened since that effort.

Todd Pannell is an eye-catching jockey booking and he is taken to improve on his 26% strike-rate (7/27) when riding for trainer Stephen Theodore.
