AFGRI Equipment Maiden Tips (Race 4)
Belmont Value Bet - Race 4 No. 6 No Show
There was plenty to like about No Show's debut performance at Northam on October 4, with the three-year-old attracting late support at a big price before overcoming a slightly slow getaway and an interrupted passage to finish fifth over 1100m.
The Robert Price-trained gelding raced keenly in the early stages and was held up at crucial points in the straight, but finished powerfully once clear, recording the fastest final 200m of the race despite the contest being effectively over.
The form has some substance given the quinella of that Northam contest both arrived from decent maidens, and with natural improvement expected from his first race-day experience, No Show can make his presence felt in a competitive midweek field.
Spelled following two April trials, he appeared one-paced when settling close to the speed in his first jump-out this preparation before improving into second at Lark Hill on September 21, responding under riding in a heat won by Flying Swagman, who subsequently scored as an odds-on favourite at Northam last week.
Although No Show should eventually appreciate distances around 1400m to 1600m, Wednesday's rise to 1200m is a positive at just his second career appearance, where a big each-way price is available.
Quayclean Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 11 Quedjinup
Quedjinup produced an eye-catching debut victory at Bunbury on July 15, with the daughter of Brave Smash settling off the speed before unleashing the fastest final 200m of the meeting to score impressively over 1100m.
The runner-up, Western Splendour, subsequently produced two metropolitan placings in August, while third placegetter Blue Sparx went on to win a Belmont maiden before performing competitively in Class 1 company at Northam, giving the Bunbury form a solid foundation.
The filly then had excuses when beaten as favourite in a late-season two-year-old contest at Belmont on July 25, finishing runner-up behind the talented Rifleman in a performance that was better than the bare result suggested.
Her September 21 Lark Hill trial was particularly encouraging, with Quedjinup covering ground but travelling comfortably without being asked for a serious effort before finishing strongly beyond the line in a heat won by Like Clockwork, who subsequently resumed with an impressive Belmont victory before finding a smart Bassett Hound too strong on October 10.
Although drawn wide for Wednesday's resumption, Quedjinup has demonstrated her effectiveness when ridden patiently and enough tactical speed to settle closer if required, while Lucy Fiore knows the filly well after partnering her in both race-day appearances and her latest trial.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 6 No. 10 Cassandra
Taking on older opposition is rarely straightforward for an early-season three-year-old, but Cassandra looks destined for considerably better races than a midweek Class 1, with the daughter of Exceedance returning from a freshen-up following her September 9 defeat at Belmont.
The filly appeared to have her chance when finishing third on that occasion, although she raced closer to the inside section of the track when the better ground appeared to be wider, and the strength of the form has since become increasingly apparent.
Winner Perfume Princess was also freshened before returning with a Class 3 victory at Ascot last Wednesday, while fourth placegetter Javelin Strike subsequently won both October appearances, providing strong evidence that Cassandra was contesting a particularly competitive Class 1.
That defeat followed an impressive debut victory at Pinjarra on August 20, where she recorded the fastest final 200m of the meeting, with runner-up Rocktex subsequently strengthening the form by winning a Saturday metropolitan three-year-old contest at Belmont in early September.
William Pike retains the ride after partnering Cassandra in both career starts, and with the benefit of a freshen-up, encouraging form references and considerable upside, she looks ideally placed to return to winning ways.
