The Tigers dominated the opening match with both bat and ball, while Australia's batting lineup again struggled badly against quality pace.
Bangladesh's quicks set the tone in the first ODI and there is every reason to expect a repeat performance. Mustafizur Rahman struck twice with the new ball and finished with 2-24, while Nahid Rana ripped through the middle order with 4-41. Bangladesh's batting lineup also appears in excellent shape. Tanzid Hasan made 54, Najmul Hossain Shanto added 67 and returning allrounder Mosaddek Hossain produced a match-winning 86 not out before backing it up with 2-37. With confidence high and home conditions firmly in their favour, Bangladesh can secure a landmark series victory.
