UFC 323 Tips & Predictions

The UFC returns to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night (Sunday AEDT) for its final pay-per-view card of the year: UFC 323.

The event features a loaded 14-fight lineup highlighted by two championship bouts.

Headlining the card is a highly anticipated bantamweight title rematch, with reigning champion Merab Dvalishvili defending his belt against former champ Petr Yan.

Read on below as our experts provide their best bets for UFC 323.

UFC 323 Champions Double

🏆 Best Bet: Merab & Pantoja to win @ $1.68

Dvalishvili enters UFC 323 as one of the most dominant champions in the sport, riding a 14-fight win streak and eyeing a record-setting fourth successful title defence in a single year. His relentless wrestling and unmatched cardio make him a nightmare matchup for Petr Yan, who was comprehensively out-worked in their first meeting. With an incredible average of 6.4 takedowns per 15 minutes and the UFC record for most takedown attempts in a fight, Dvalishvili’s pressure game consistently breaks opponents down. Yan’s sharp boxing remains dangerous, but against a champion who controls pace, distance and position so effectively, another Dvalishvili victory - likely via grinding decision - is the most logical outcome.

Pantoja, meanwhile, looks primed to extend his reign over the flyweight division. The Brazilian champion’s jiu-jitsu and top-control dominance have led to 10 submissions in his last 12 wins, and his ability to drag opponents into deep waters continues to separate him from the rest. Joshua Van’s speed and volume striking can create early danger, but his past stoppage losses and limited experience against elite grapplers make this a daunting challenge. Pantoja’s skill in forcing scrambles, securing dominant positions and capitalising on mistakes should again prove decisive - a submission win for “The Cannibal” is the most probable result as he continues his reign of technical and tactical excellence.

Brandon Moreno vs Tatsuro Taira

🏆 Best Bet: Moreno Win @ $2.02

Moreno looks poised to prove that experience, composure and technical evolution still matter most at flyweight when he faces rising Japanese contender Tatsuro Taira. The former two-time champion may have dropped narrow decisions to Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval, but both fights showed his world-class durability, defensive improvements, and ability to adapt under pressure. Moreno’s recent wins over younger prospects reminded fans of his versatility - a polished jab, slick counterpunching and a deep gas tank that allows him to dictate pace across five rounds. His anti-wrestling has become a key weapon, neutralising opponents who try to slow him down on the mat and against a grappler like Taira, that skillset should once again prove decisive.

Taira brings youth, athleticism and a strong submission arsenal, but his game still lacks the polish and grit that define Moreno’s championship pedigree. The Japanese star can threaten early, yet over the course of three rounds, Moreno’s pressure, volume and superior striking variety should wear him down. Expect the Mexican veteran to survive a few tricky moments on the ground, push the pace late and edge ahead on the scorecards through cleaner shots and constant aggression. Moreno’s experience in championship-level wars gives him the edge. This should be a hard-fought, tactical bout, but one that sees Moreno reassert his place among the flyweight elite with a unanimous decision victory.

Brunno Ferreira vs. Marvin Vettori

🏆 Best Bet: Ferreira Win @ $1.98

Ferreira’s explosive finishing power makes him a nightmare stylistic matchup for Vettori. With all 14 of his professional wins coming inside the distance - 11 in the first round  Ferreira’s early aggression and knockout precision pose a serious threat to Vettori’s declining durability. The Italian’s high-guard, forward-pressure style plays perfectly into Ferreira’s looping counters, uppercuts and knees in tight spaces, while his habit of absorbing heavy shots has become increasingly costly.

Beyond his striking, Ferreira’s underrated grappling adds another layer of danger; his front-choke and arm-triangle setups could punish any sloppy level change or clinch attempt. With Vettori showing wear from years of damage and lacking one-punch deterrent power, Ferreira’s combination of explosiveness, submission skill, and killer instinct gives him a genuine edge in what the bookies see as a pick-em fight.
