10 Things You Didn't Know About Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira took on Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 as the former defeated the latter as Adesanya looked to defend his UFC Middleweight belt for a seventh time with his fight against the Brazilian.

Pereira has enjoyed a lightning fast start to his MMA career, with the star got a shot at the title in only his fourth fight in the UFC. He now boasts being the Middleweight champion after just a hadful of fights.

With only four fights under his belt, most of you will not really know the Brazilian all that well.

If this is the case, then fear not! Bookmaker Neds have created a very handy '10 things you didn't know about Alex Pereira' video so that you can wow all of your friends when you watch the Brazilian in his next fight.

Check out the video below to get up close and personal with one of the UFC's hottest properties.

1. He is a double champion

Pereira has won titles in two different kickboxing divisions. The Brazilian has won the Glory Middleweight and Light Heavyweight titles.

2. He had already beaten his opponent twice already

Pereira had already beaten his previous opponent twice in kickboxing already before then stunning him in the UFC.

3. He had only had seven MMA fights before UFC 281

Only three of these were in the UFC before UFC 281. While Pereira was not quite able to match Jiri Prochazcha who got a title fight in his third UFC fight, getting a shot in his fourth fight is not bad at all.

4. He made a losing start in MMA

The Brazilian actually lost his first MMA fight. He was forced to submit on his MMA debut, once again proving that kickboxing and MMA are very different sports.

5. Pereira is a unique trainer

Pereira was seen using a hover board while sparring in the build up to UFC 281.

6. Pereira is older than his last opponent

Born in June 1987, the Brazilian is actually two years older than his last opponent, Adesanya.

7. Sport runs in the family

Pereira's sister, Aline, fights in the Super Bantamweight division in kickboxing. She boasts six wins from eight pro fights.

8. The Brazilian loves a bonus

Pereira has excelled in the UFC and made the most of the $50k in bonuses on offer. He had previously notched two performances of the night awards in his first three fights.

9. He is not very experienced

Pereira has 33 wins in kickboxing, while Adesanya snared 75 wins before switching to MMA. Pereira was champion in Glory, unlike his next opponent.

10. He was the underdog

Pereira went into the fight as the underdog despite already tasting defeat against his next opponent twice. He now boasts three wins against Adesanya in three fights.
