The 2025 NRL Finals get underway with four games taking place in Week 1 from September 12-14. Tony Moley Adams previews all eight matches and provides his best bet.
Storm vs Bulldogs
Both teams go into the first finals game hard hit by injury and it could be the battle of the fittest. The Storm are batting around 90 per cent at home and while they have lost star half Jahrome Hughes, they will be boosted by the return of hooker Harry Grant from suspension. The Bulldogs have lost their way in recent weeks and the absence of strike winger Jacob Kiraz only adds to their woes.
Moley’s Tip: Storm by 13+ ($2.75 Elitebet)
Warriors vs Panthers
Penrith have lost under-rated hooker Mitch Kenny and his work rate will be missed. But the Panthers - chasing five straight premierships - have class all over the paddock and deserve to be 9.5 point favourites even in Auckland. Their biggest hurdle will be the 25,000 Kiwis willing the home team on. The Warriors haven’t played well since losing half Luke Metcalf mid-season and I see them going out the back door.
Moley’s Tip: Panthers -9.5 ($1.91 Dabble)
Sharks vs Roosters
Probably the toughest of the four finals to pick, with both teams coming into the big games in good form and with match winners in key positions. I’m leaning slightly towards the Roosters, with the likes of James Tedesco, Sam Walker, Mark Nawaqanitawase and Angus Crichton having a bit too much class and big game experience.
Moley’s Tip: Roosters by 1-12 ($3.25 Ladbrokes)
Raiders vs Broncos
Many experts tipped the Raiders to finish on bottom of the ladder - yet we come into the finals and they are in top spot. The Broncos are $2.25 outsiders but have the most dangerous attack of any team in the finals race. If they get on a roll and boom fullback Reece Walsh is at his best, they will win and win well.
Moley’s Tip: Broncos win ($2.25 Dabble)
