NFL 2025 Season Preview – Contenders, Pretenders & Super Bowl Picks

The new NFL season is here, and it’s shaping up as one of the most fascinating in years. With blockbuster trades, a loaded draft class, and power shifting across the league, 2025 could deliver a wide-open race to Super Bowl LX.

The Green Bay Packers headline the contenders after pulling off the Micah Parsons trade. With Jordan Love developing and their defence finally adding an elite pass rusher, they’re poised to challenge the NFC’s best.

The 49ers boast the easiest schedule in the league and a healthy Christian McCaffrey, making this season a genuine “Super Bowl or bust” campaign. Meanwhile, the Houston Texans could surprise after rebuilding their offensive line around CJ Stroud.

On the flip side, the Lions may regress after losing both coordinators, the Commanders face a much tougher schedule, and the Chiefs could finally take a step back with O-line issues and too many close wins last season.

Draft Picks to Watch

  • Travis Hunter (Jaguars): A rare two-way talent who could shine at both corner and receiver.
  • Shador Sanders (Browns): Already a fan favourite, pressure will mount if the Browns stumble.
  • Abdul Carter (Giants): A Micah Parsons clone who could transform the Giants’ defence.
  • Ashton Jeantry (Raiders): A record-breaking rusher in college, now RB1 in Vegas.

Off-Season Winners & Losers

Winners: The Giants with two first-rounders and Russell Wilson mentoring Jackson Dart, plus the Patriots rebuilding with Mike Vrabel, Josh McDaniels and Stefan Diggs. The Bears also surged with big coaching and roster moves.

Losers: The Cowboys let Parsons walk, the Dolphins lost talent across the board, and the Browns continue to stumble off the field with drama overshadowing talent.

Super Bowl LX Predictions

Santa Clara will host the big dance, and the favourites are clear:
  • Baltimore Ravens with Lamar and Derrick Henry are primed to deliver.
  • Green Bay Packers look the class of the NFC.
  • Minnesota Vikings are dangerous with JJ McCarthy back.
  • Dark Horse: Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers could shock if their defence dominates.
