Taree Tips June 5

Taree Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Come On Glamour

Come On Glamour showed up well last preparation, registering top-two finishes in five of her six starts.

The exception came when finishing sixth in a 1212m Class 1 event at Coffs Harbour in December.

The youngster ended that campaign with back-to-back wins at the same venue, including a one-length success in a 1010m Class 3 contest at the start of March.

The filly overcame a wide barrier on a Soft 5 surface there, while she had previously won on a Heavy 9 track.

Scott Henley’s representative has raced on the pace in three of her four wins this season and, despite heading into this race without a recognised trial, she won first-up under similar circumstances last preparation.

Taree Value Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Tartaglia

Tartaglia is a proven performer at this venue, having won by over a length in a 1250m handicap here earlier this season.

Successful on a Good 4 surface that day, all three subsequent starts have come at metropolitan level.

The latest of those resulted in a last-place finish in a Benchmark 64 handicap over 1100m at Warwick Farm last month.

Paul Snowden’s gelding was resuming from a spell on that occasion and is entitled to have improved for the run.

While the four-year-old is a proven wet-track performer, the application of winkers for the first time and a return to country-grade racing are additional positives.

Taree Feature Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Rebel Rhapsody

Rebel Rhapsody has demonstrated improved form in two starts since resuming from a spell.

The four-year-old followed a seventh-place finish at Wyong in April with a second-up victory at the same venue two weeks later.

Racing on a Good 4 surface, the gelding settled on the pace before finishing half a length clear of his nearest rival in a Benchmark 68 event.

While unable to complete a double at Hawkesbury subsequently, he looked the likely winner before going down narrowly in second over 1400m.

The first two home finished nearly five lengths clear of third on a Soft 7 track that day, and with Danish Fortune in the field ensuring a favourable racing weight, Rebel Rhapsody looks well placed.

Taree Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Royal Teens

Royal Teens ticks plenty of boxes here and has finished in the top four at each of her past four starts.

Those recent efforts include back-to-back placings at this venue.

The first of those came over 1250m on a Soft 6 surface, where the mare was beaten just over a length into third in a Benchmark 66 event.

Terry Evans’ representative improved on that effort over 1312m at the same track at her latest appearance.

Facing 11 rivals on that occasion, Royal Teens was beaten less than half a length in a similar race to this on a Heavy 8 track, while Liberty Smyth’s 2kg claim is another positive.
