With seven wins and a third from 13 appearances, She's Exotic has already put together a tidy record.

While up in the weights from her last attempt, she carried 2kg more when bolting in fresh before returning to Brisbane with excuses at Listed level second-up.

Third-up in this grade, the mare recorded the fastest last 800m, last 600m and last 400m of an event taken out by Soothsayer.

That galloper franked the form with a stakes victory a fortnight later and is also respected in the market for the Glasshouse Handicap later on this card.

Forgive the stakes tilt at Ipswich last time out, where the five-year-old covered ground and wasn't disgraced considering that tough run, while She's Exotic has held winning form deep into campaigns, including a November 15 triumph on a Soft 7 before a spell.

His Sunshine Coast record is the main concern, although Steady Ready has still placed in two of four attempts at this circuit.

The Sears-trained galloper couldn't have done much more in two runs this campaign, beginning with the Bat Out Of Hell at the Gold Coast on May 9, where he was taken on up front by a 200/1 outsider who dropped right out.

Considering that pressure, he did very well to stick on for third, while the race shape was also against him second-up, where he was again clearly the pick of the on-speed runners when runner-up in a Listed affair won by Monte Supreme.

That winner settled off the speed and never went around a runner, while Steady Ready had moved well in a Gold Coast trial win leading into the campaign after not quite being at his best earlier this season.

Steady Ready looks to have turned a corner and deserves win number eight.

How do we handle Within The Law now?

Under set weights and conditions, ratings suggest she should have this field covered, but she's forever needing luck and again didn't get it in last Saturday's Tatts Tiara, where she settled back and was unsuited in a slowly run race.

Prior to that, she ran into a dominant Skyhook in the Gunsynd Classic at Eagle Farm after opening her campaign in the Fred Best Classic, with that May 30 performance easily the pick of her Brisbane runs.

While becoming costly for punters, this is by far the easiest assignment she's seen in Brisbane, while her fourth-up pattern earlier in the season resulted in a Group 1 second over this distance before being thrown in the deep end for the King Charles III Stakes.

The winning drought now dates back to March last year as a juvenile, but the filly has still been mostly thereabouts and this Winx Guineas assignment is D-Day.

You can make a case for a host of these, and the each-way contenders make the most appeal.

Cifrado is also a big price, he's flying and had genuine excuses at Ipswich, while although King Zephyr has been very costly, he's finally at a price and should only improve with that clockwise run under his belt.

Roll On High is another roughie to include, especially if the track gets a little firmer, while Silver Wedding is also at a double-figure quote and 1400m should be ideal third-up.

The Inflictor perhaps doesn't have the class of some of these, but he's super honest and is likely to have map advantages from barrier five with blinkers applied.

He was terrific first-up in a strong Hall Mark Stakes, was workmanlike in The Archer, went too slow after leading in the BRC Sprint when inviting those with a turn-of-foot into the race, while the drop in trip last time was a strange placement and he now gets back out to 1400m.
