Sandown Tips May 24

Sportsbet More Places Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Sandown Roughie - Race 4 No. 7 Stirrup Cup

The penny is slowly dropping with Stirrup Cup, who outperformed a 90/1 starting price when runner-up in the Listed Adelaide Guineas last start.

Given the strength of his second-up win and with three-year-old given no chance when back in a slowly run Group 3 third-up, the most recent effort wasn't a complete shock.

The South Australian visitor can produce a big finish and with the big Sandown Hillside circuit likely to suit, he's at least an each-way chance in an open race.

Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Sandown Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Forgot You

As a dual Group 2 winner, Forgot You isn't short on class for this event and given his lack of first-up form, the May 10 return at Caulfield was a pass mark.

The rise in distance favours him in this second-up assignment and while he's still on the comeback trail from injury, his two jump-out's in April were both sharp.

After going to the line with Charm Stone (Group 1 winner 12 days later), Forgot You worked through his gears when taking a 1000m heat on April 28.

Stow Storage Solutions Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Sandown Best Bet - Race 7 No. 15 Otago

The main query is that Otago is second-up off a long break, however, he's four weeks between runs in this second-up tilt and it was hard to miss his return.

In a BM78 taken out by a smart King Zephyr, this lightly raced four-year-old caught the eye with the fastest last 800m/600m/400m and 200m of the race.

While this is technically a rise in grade, there's arguably less quality in this BM84 field to what he faced fresh and along with drawing kinder, he also carries 3kg less.

Senet Gambling Law Experts Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Sandown Favourite - Race 8 No. 10 Accredited

All six of his wins have come on good ground, while he hasn't saluted in six wet track runs and Accredited is aiming to avoid a testing surface via this Melbourne placement.

The Joe Pride-trained galloper was working the grades last campaign, with a hat-trick after a luckless return and he was at end of his prep when beaten as fav in a Group 3.

1200m is too short for him and a Soft 7 isn't his preferred surface, yet Accredited was sound first-up in the Takeover Target stakes in what was a busy finish.

Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 7 Oh Too Good

1400m-1600m is the right range for Oh Too Good, who resumed with a strong chasing effort over 1200mn, where she was ridden cold from a wide draw.

The lightly raced mare is expected to be more positive over 1400m and second-up last prep, the daughter of All Too Hard was very brave via a narrow Flemington loss.

Oh Too Good hasn't finished out of the money in nine career starts and in what looks a very winnable second-up option, she's well placed here.
