Hygain Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Haida Gwaii
Michael Lane’s filly has been in good form this prep, registering four wins from six starts, including when resuming in a 1000m maiden at Ascot in April.
Two of the three-year-old’s subsequent victories have come over this course and distance, with the first of those coming in a Class 1 handicap in May.
That victory saw Haida Gwaii race from the front prior to registering a comfortable victory when racing on a Good 4 track.
Haida Gwaii has since demonstrated that she handles wet conditions in winning two of her three subsequent starts.
The sole defeat in that run came when encountering a Good 4 track when racing on the Scarpside track here two weeks later and she arrives here seeking a hat-trick.
She has raced from the front in each of her last two starts, including when successful by over one-and-a-half-lengths on a Heavy 9 surface here last time.

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Snazzler
The gelding has recorded some good efforts this prep, including when beaten just over a length over 1400m at Belmont in May.
Snazzler contested a sixteen-runner Benchmark 60+ handicap held on a sound surface on that occasion.
The five-year-old went to finish fifth at Northam next time prior to delivering a half-length third when contesting a 1690m Benchmark 66+ handicap at Bunbury last month.
He raced on a Soft 5 track when jumping at $16 at Bunbury and he delivered a good effort having been ridden from off the pace that day.
The son of Mahuta failed to make an impact when finishing ninth, having raced from mid-division over 1600m here last week.
Holly Watson is set to ride Snazzler for just the second time here and her mount looks value to register a win stepping up in distance.

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 8 Fancy Red
The daughter of Sessions has been in good form since debuting with a fair sixth over 1300m on the Scarpside course here in April.
Fancy Red has gone on to win three times from six subsequent starts, including when completing a double in saluting over 1300m at Northam in May.
The filly triumphed on good going that day, but proved she handlers wetter conditions when placing third on soft going twice subsequently.
Those two third-place efforts include an eye-catching defeat by just over half-a-length when contesting a 1600m Class 3 handicap at Northam on her penultimate outing.
She jumped from a wide barrier when racing on a Soft 6 surface that day, with the runner-up that day going on to score subsequently.

Pinjarra Roughie - Race 8 No. 2 Californication
The five-year-old has shown a liking for a wet surface in the past, registering a win and two third-place finishes from his four starts on soft going.
Three of those efforts came last prep, including when beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths over 1400m at Belmont in May last year.
Californication contested a Benchmark 60+ handicap that day and he went on to salute over 1400m two starts later when last in action.
he came home over a length clear of his rivals when ridden with restraint that day and he has been off the track for over a year since that effort.
The gelding has also rejoined the Paul Rowe stabl, having been with Garry McPherson for his two most recent outings.
He has had a couple of trials ahead of his return to action and Californication usually comes to hand quickly (two wins and a second from three first-up attempts).
