Karavas has always come to hand early in her work, with a win and two seconds from three fresh attempts and for a stakes class sprinter resuming in a BM78, the $4+ makes appeal in the early markets.

Morphettville Roughie - Race 6 No. 3 Hoodys Horse

His Victorian references are mostly modest, however, they stack up well enough for a 0-64 in Adelaide and now third-up with two 1700m runs under the belt, the six-year-old is well placed up to 1950m.

After working, Hoodys Horse was brave when returning with 60kg on a Heavy 9 at Warrnambool and he was again forced to spend some early petrol tickets when tiring late for a sixth-of-twelve finish last time.

He was racing consistently throughout last winter, where Hoodys Horse recorded a soft track winning double after running into a smart Revelare and he's proven to be adept on all surfaces.

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Colmar

This gelding was dominant Group 3 winner on the Morphettville Parks circuit last winter and prior to that Sires' Produce Stakes success, he was runner-up to Femminile (subsequent SA Derby winner) at Listed level.

While he couldn't fire in a short spring prep, Colmar has been mostly consistent in five appearances this time in, which includes a fresh triumph and he suffered two close defeats in June before a freshen-up.

1050m was too slick, however, his July 9 effort in the Lightning Stakes was a good one and after chasing Cicala, Fieldelo and Sir Now, this is a much more suitable task over 1250m (can lead from gate one).

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Darknconfidential

There was some quality in the BM64 that he contested first-up at Murray Bridge, where Riche D'Amour reeled in a progressive Cash and Darknconfidential was getting warm late.

1200m was too short for the Stuart Gower-trained galloper and while he was never in winning contention, Darknconfidential recorded the second-fastest closing splits of that August 2 event.

With 1600m being his preferred range, he could be a run short, however, the extra furlongs helps and off his exposed form throughout last season in stronger company, he's clearly the class runner of this line up.
