Doomben Best Bet - Race 1 No. 4 Dracena

She was third behind a useful pair over this track/trip at start six prior to a spell and Dracena has really furnished this campaign, with the four-year-old aiming for a hat-trick in Saturday's third-up attempt.

After bolting in with a Sunshine Coast maiden on July 13, the Troy Pascoe-trained galloper quickly handled the rise to Saturday metro company when landing the cash for us second-up at Doomben.

While it was only a narrow triumph over Ramp It Up, the top two did clear out from the rest of the field in that July 26 event and along with having a fitness edge, that runner-up was also Group 3 placed prior to that clash.

Drinkwise QTIS 3yo Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Doomben Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Idyllic Affair

This filly was a notable drifter ahead of her January 18 debut, however, she outperformed a long starting price as runner-up in that Eagle Farm race (form reads well through the third, fourth and fifth placegetters).

Idyllic Affair progressed with a start two breakthrough at Doomben and there was more merit to that victory than the margin suggests, as she had to come from off the speed in a very slowly run race.

She ran the fastest last 400m of the entire February 1 program at Doomben and while resuming at 1350m is a slight query, Idyllic Affair is a big, strong three-year-old who is bred to get over some ground.

Radio Metro CG&E Class 3 Plate Tips (Race 6)

Doomben Favourite - Race 6 No. 15 Theblade

Team Hawkes have done early shoppers no favours by accepting in three states and staying in all of them as of Thursday night, while this Class 3 Set Weights affair looks the softest option for Theblade.

Spelled after a stylish debut win last August, the son of Toronado wasn't able to progress when in the market via two subsequent outings in December and February, and he's received the ultimate gear change as a result.

This youngster is superbly bred, being out of Brigite, who is an unraced half-sister to champion sprinter Black Caviar, and Brigite is also a full younger sister to All Too Hard (four-time Group 1 winner).

Sky Racing Open Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Doomben Value Bet - Race 7 No. 9 Naval Trader

The fresh horse on the scene here is Naval Trader, who worked quite well via an August 5 trial and a drying surface will be in his favour for this return, as he didn't get through wet ground at the back end of autumn.

Outside of those April and May runs, the grey has been a consistent campaigner over the journey and following a 1350m Doomben success early last season, he wasn't disgraced when in the market for a Listed affair.

Naval Trader doesn't have any first-up wins, however, he's only finished outside of the money once in five fresh attempts and he's placed via his last two at Doomben (somehow beaten in his February return).
