Belmont Best Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Sensessional

His two main threats in the early market are Multinational and Investmentstrategy, and he easily accounted for both of them when saluting first-up at Pinjarra on August 2.

Even with a little weight swing in their favour from that recent clash, it's hard to see how the Parnham pair turn the tables on Sensessional and it's worth noting that this gelding had no prior first-up wins.

The five-year-old has won his last three second-up attempts, so there's no signs pointing towards a regression here, while the track switch is another positive (four wins and a third from five starts at Belmont).

Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Belmont Value Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Doctor Jay

After a soft first trial, the son of War Chant completed a more searching workout when taking out a 1000m heat on July 21, where he reeled in a handy Nonesospicy (won her last three before a spell).

The punters found Doctor Jay via his July 30 resumption, with heavy support late despite the 12-month layoff and while he was disappointing given the market push, he appeared to pick up late.

On ability, Doctor Jay is at least a Saturday class operator in Perth and he's clearly a much better horse than what we saw fresh, so I'm willing to forgive one bad run, especially now that he's an each-way price.

Glenroy Chaff Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Belmont Favourite - Race 7 No. 10 Street Band

It's worth putting a line through his second-up failure at Pinjarra, where Street Band was off the speed and he then found nothing but backsides when searching for room in the home straight.

The prior fresh form from Bunbury appeals, with the four-year-old placing behind Madhi Girl (saluted again last week) and Desert Whisper (was attempting a hat-trick in that event).

His closing sectionals were strong (second-fastest last 600m of the meeting) despite working home in the inferior ground via that July 19 effort and now with a fitness platform, he could easily atone third-up.

Bisley Workwear Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Lombadina

She hadn't delivered a bad run in 12 starts prior to her July 19 performance, where Lombadina was second-up and with blinkers applied, the five-year-old bounced back with a third-up victory.

There's a touch more depth to this, however, with only a 1kg penalty and having recorded a career peak fourth-up last campaign when stepping up to a mile (also on a short turnaround), she can at least hold her form.

Clint Johnston-Porter jumped back aboard the mare last start and he may well hold the key to Lombadina, as this pair have combined for four wins and three placings from their seven appearances together.
