The track is currently rated a Soft 5, although there's a chance it will be upgraded with dry conditions expected on race day.

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 9 Silent Thinker

After a solid grounding through the trials, Silent Thinker made his race debut at the Gold Coast last month.

Racing just behind the speed, the gelding finished just under three lengths from the winner, with only two more experienced rivals proving too strong.

The son of So You Think competed over 1300m on a Soft 5 surface, and the slight drop in distance here shouldn't pose any concerns.

While the form race is yet to produce a winner, both the runner-up and seventh have performed well in defeat at their subsequent starts.

Barrier nine shouldn't be a major obstacle, and with natural improvement expected from his debut, Ben Thompson's mount looks capable of breaking through at the second time of asking.

Ipswich Best Bet - Race 4 No. 8 Golden Eyes

Winning form is hard to ignore, and Golden Eyes arrives chasing a hat-trick after successive victories.

She broke her maiden in convincing fashion at the Sunshine Coast before stepping up to Benchmark 65 company at Doomben two weeks ago.

The filly again impressed there, finishing strongly over 1660m to prove she could measure up against winners.

The extra distance on Wednesday looks suitable, while both victories came on Soft 5 tracks and similar conditions are expected again.

Ben Thompson boasts an outstanding 61.5% strike-rate (8/13) when riding for the Jack Bruce stable at Ipswich this season, and Golden Eyes is taken to make it three straight.

Ipswich Value Bet - Race 8 No. 10 Canpikapony

Rain-affected ground has consistently brought out the best in Canpikapony, with all three of her career wins coming on Soft or Heavy tracks.

The latest of those victories came at this venue in late May, where she prevailed by just under half a length over 1350m on a Heavy 9 surface.

The four-year-old overcame a slow start that day after being ridden patiently, and it's worth forgiving her below-par effort at the Gold Coast last time out.

A return to Ipswich is a positive, while barrier seven should allow Emily Lang plenty of options throughout.

Chris Waller's mare isn't the most consistent runner in the field, but at generous odds she appeals as a genuine value chance.
