We were with Articole for his return victory at Northam on June 18, and it was a much better performance than the narrow winning margin suggests.
The three-year-old was forced to work wide and cover ground throughout the 1300m contest, yet still bravely held on to defeat Cosmo Ruler.
That runner-up enjoyed the perfect trail into the race but couldn't reel him in, while she has since franked the form with a dominant maiden victory at Pinjarra on July 2.
There's always been an opinion of Articole, who started favourite in both summer appearances when placed on each occasion, with the fresh win suggesting he's returned a better horse.
The slight drop in distance second-up is a minor query for a galloper who looks capable of getting over more ground, but he's lightly raced, still early in the campaign and draws much kinder here.

There was a touch of arrogance about Partay's second-up breakthrough at Pinjarra on June 24 despite doing early work to eventually find the lead.
The son of Playing God also over-raced at stages before producing a brilliant turn-of-foot to explode clear for a dominant 1400m victory.
That followed a narrow first-up defeat at Belmont when catching the eye behind Western Jet, who was then unlucky at his next start before starting favourite in a 60+ at Belmont last Saturday.
This is no gimme stepping into Class 3 company, but Partay may have the most upside in the field.
The powerful Williams and Pike combination is striking at almost 31.5% this season, and the rise in distance third-up should hold no fears.

Connections opted to scratch Proportrait from last Wednesday's meeting on a Heavy track, and that patience could be rewarded here.
While the surface is currently rated a Soft 6, there's every chance of an upgrade, meaning he'll meet a much firmer track than he would have last week.
The winning strike-rate isn't outstanding, but the six-year-old is racing consistently, beginning this campaign with a strong third when he arguably should have finished closer.
He then went down narrowly at odds on June 10 after working home through the inferior ground, with that form already franked by subsequent Saturday winner God's Green.
The rise in distance looks suitable off his two runs this preparation, and Proportrait appeals as a genuine value chance.
