Flemington Favourite - Race 1 No. 6 One Hard Lady
This unbeaten filly is an interesting runner in the Flemington opener, where the three-year-old is set to make her metro debut following three wins on the NSW country circuit.
After landing good bets when bolting in on debut, One Hard Lady covered ground at start two and Blaike McDougall barely breathed on her when completing a hat-trick.
Donna Scott has a career strike rate of 28% at Flemington and while this is her toughest assignment to date, One Hard Lady hasn't put a hoof wrong.
K.A Morrison Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Flemington Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Daggers
1400m is worth another look for Daggers, who made inroads when contesting the Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes and that winner took out The Goodwood.
There were excuses second-up, where the colt was working home in the worst going and first-up, he was only narrowly beaten in the Inglis Sprint.
Daggers showed tactical speed in his first campaign and after three cold rides over sprint distances, Ben Melham can be positive early over this longer trip.
Hilton Nicholas Straight Six Tips (Race 6)
Flemington Best Bet - Race 6 No. 11 King Zephyr
Coming back in trip looks the main query for King Zephyr, however, Grahame Begg always had this race in mind and I'm happy to trust a very astute trainer.
Also, King Zephyr should have the class and versatility handle this placement, where connections are aiming for a big ratings boost to get into the Stradbroke Handicap.
It won't be the end of the world if King Zephyr doesn't end up in Queensland, as spring handicaps appeal for a galloper who is quickly working the grades.
Lexus Andrew Ramsden Tips (Race 7)
Flemington Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 18 Alma Rise
She recorded a much deserved third-up victory in the Country Oaks at Echuca, with Alma Rise arriving to her last start off two unlucky attempts.
This is a shot at the stumps for a Melbourne Cup berth, but being only fourth-up and in just her third campaign, she's one of the few in this field with genuine upside.
Alma Rise was at the end of her first prep over this track/trip in last year's St Leger and she contests the 2025 Andrew Ramsden as a more seasoned four-year-old.
L.V Lachal Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Flemington Value Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Rolls
He kept his 'Bool form intact with another victory over the famous country carnival and Rolls was only second-up in that 1700m triumph on April 29.
The veteran was terrific prior to that when resuming at Listed level in Adelaide and third-up last prep, he was an all-the-way open handicap winner at The Valley.
Rolls can settle forward or back, while he's also effective over most trips and a testing mile at Flemington could see the versatile campaigner give a big sight.
