The AFC North showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18 carries major playoff implications. Revitalized by Derrick Henry's dominant rushing and Lamar Jackson's return, Baltimore is expected to outmaneuver the Steelers, who falter without DK Metcalf. The Ravens' strategic blend of offensive power and defensive discipline suggests they will cover a -4 margin. Pittsburgh's defensive resilience, hindered by injuries, likely won't be enough to topple Baltimore. Expect a game total under 41.5 points, with Henry projected for a notable run.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Week 18 Tips & Predictions

It doesn’t get more AFC North than this. Steelers vs Ravens. Tomlin vs Harbaugh. A game that feels more like a street fight than a football match and one that likely decides who keeps playing next week.

Pittsburgh took the first meeting back in Week 14, but the circumstances are very different this time around. Aaron Rodgers won’t have DK Metcalf, T.J. Watt is unlikely to play, and Baltimore welcome back Lamar Jackson with Derrick Henry running hotter than at any point this season.

Baltimore finally leaned into Derrick Henry last week and the result was emphatic.
A season-high 36 carries, 216 rushing yards and four touchdowns powered a 41-point performance and re-established the Ravens’ offensive identity.

Henry now enters this matchup with three straight 100+ yard games, running with authority behind an offensive line that’s fully committed to downhill football. With Lamar Jackson confirmed to return, Pittsburgh’s defensive task becomes far more complex than it was in the first meeting, where they could focus almost entirely on Henry.

The Steelers did hold Henry to 3.8 yards per carry earlier this season, but he still posted 94 yards and required constant attention. If Baltimore commits to volume again at least one explosive run feels inevitable.

On the other side, Pittsburgh’s offence took a sharp step backward without DK Metcalf. Aaron Rodgers wasn’t under heavy pressure, but the passing game lacked any explosiveness, producing just 168 yards, no touchdowns and a brutal 3-of-15 on third down.

Take Baltimore to win and cover the -4 line by sitting in coverage, limiting chunk plays and forcing the Steelers to grind out long drives. The Game Total trends Under 41.5 with this play style and we are backing Derrick Henry to get at least one good run of 17.5 yards or more.

  • Four of the last five Ravens vs Steelers games have finished outside a 4-point margin
  • Derrick Henry has 100+ rushing yards in three straight games
  • Pittsburgh failed to score a touchdown last week without DK Metcalf
  • Baltimore rank 1st in rushing yards per game this season

Baltimore Ravens Form

Baltimore enter this matchup trending upward at the perfect time. After a frustrating mid-season stretch, the Ravens rediscovered their identity last week by putting the offence firmly in Derrick Henry’s hands. The result was their most complete performance of the season, scoring 41 points and dominating time of possession.

Henry looks fully re-energised, posting three consecutive 100-yard games and finding consistent success between the tackles. Just as importantly, Lamar Jackson’s return adds a layer of unpredictability that was missing last week. Even when the passing numbers haven’t been elite, Lamar’s presence alone forces defences to hesitate, opening rushing lanes and softening coverage.

Defensively, Baltimore have been inconsistent against the pass, but they remain stout enough up front to control games when playing with a lead. At home, in a win-or-go-home scenario, the Ravens are well positioned to dictate tempo and play on their terms.

Pittsburgh Steelers Form

Pittsburgh arrive in Baltimore with their defence still holding firm, but growing concerns on the offensive side of the ball. Without DK Metcalf last week, the Steelers’ passing game stalled badly, failing to generate explosive plays or sustain drives. Aaron Rodgers wasn’t under constant pressure, yet the offence managed only two field goals and struggled mightily on third down.

The absence of a true mismatch receiver allowed opponents to compress the field, sit in coverage and challenge Pittsburgh to execute long, mistake-free possessions, something they’ve struggled to do recently. While Jaylen Warren has run with purpose and efficiency, the Steelers appear to be leaning on the ground game more out of necessity than design.

Defensively, Pittsburgh have played solid football over the past month, limiting opponents and creating timely turnovers. However, injuries loom large, with T.J. Watt unlikely to feature. Without him, their margin for error narrows significantly against a Baltimore team built to punish physical lapses.
