Sandown Best Bet - Race 1 No. 2 Boys Bounce
A strong pedigree adds to the appeal of Boys Bounce, with the McEvoy-trained colt by Wootton Bassett out of Montia, a half-sister to three individual Stakes winners including three-time Group 2 winner Dragon Leap and 2017 Randwick Guineas winner Inference.
He debuted in a strong 1200m maiden on the Sandown Lakeside circuit on August 19, with the quinella filled by the more experienced Somethings Burnin' and Zambales, both of whom brought quality form into that contest.
Somethings Burnin' had previously placed behind a Group winner before being tested at Group 3 level and lines up in Race 3 on this program, while Zambales was twice Stakes placed during his previous campaign.
Boys Bounce tracked the speed before hitting a flat spot on debut, but warmed up strongly late to finish third and record the fastest final 200m of the race, suggesting six furlongs was on the sharp side.
The rise to 1500m looks ideal at start two and, with any natural improvement from that encouraging first race-day experience, he's well placed to break through in the opener.

Sandown Value Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Almost An Angel
There is plenty of depth for a small-field three-year-old BM64, with Somethings Burnin', Crudens Tycoon and Greenwich Boy all arriving off impressive victories.
Almost An Angel brings a different form line after resuming with an eighth-of-16 finish in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield, where she settled well back and was held up in an impossible position.
Although never a winning chance, the Robbie Griffiths-trained filly produced the fastest final 200m of the race behind Natural Fling, who is among the early market elects for Saturday's Group 1 Moir Stakes.
She showed plenty of ability during her two-year-old campaign, which ended with a Listed placing at Morphettville where she made ground in a race dominated by those closer to the speed.
The smaller field should allow Ethan Brown to settle her within striking range, with her latest finish suggesting 1300m is worth exploring second-up.

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 8 Dirty Look
Above-average ability was evident throughout Dirty Look's first campaign, beginning with a debut third at Seymour in a maiden that has subsequently produced some strong form.
That race was won by Gold Coast Belle, who completed an autumn hat-trick with a Listed Bendigo Guineas victory before returning this season to win a strong BM88 at Sandown on August 22, while runner-up Milos Filos later won at Saturday metropolitan level.
Dirty Look went one better at start two before again finding Gold Coast Belle too strong, with her first preparation ending in a fifth-of-12 at Caulfield when beaten as favourite after racing back and wide without cover.
Her August lead-up work has been sharp, highlighted by a 1000m jump-out victory on August 17 that was comfortably the fastest heat of the morning and came on Heavy 10 ground under Michael Dee.
Most of her rivals are more seasoned but also appear closer to their ceilings, while the Graeme Begg-trained four-year-old still has upside and looks forward enough to produce first-up.

Sandown Roughie - Race 7 No. 6 Best Time
Despite 1200m looking short of his best, Best Time resumed with a victory at Cranbourne on July 19 after finding a passage late on a Heavy track.
The Smiley Chan-trained galloper then stepped to a 1400m BM66 at Sandown Lakeside on August 19, where he was restrained from a wide draw and set a big task before working home strongly between runners.
That performance produced the second-fastest final 600m and 400m of the race, while his previous campaign showed he can settle closer to the speed when circumstances allow.
His previous preparation included an 1800m maiden third-up victory at Caulfield Heath before a third over the same track-and-trip, and the lightly raced five-year-old has finished outside the top four only once in his career.
With more favours expected from the draw, added fitness third-up and strong senior rider Jamie Mott back aboard, Best Time can give plenty of cheek at a big price.
