Illawarra Grange hosts an eight-race provincial meeting on July 30 at Kembla Grange’s inner circuit. The track is rated Soft 5 with fine conditions expected. Key selections for the day include Creator Of Our World in Race 4, who faces a weak field and should capitalize under Zac Lloyd; Powder Man as an each-way chance in Race 7, boasting strong second-up form; and Glounthaune in Race 8, who looks well-placed dropping in class and returning to his optimal trip. Each horse provides value based on current form and conditions.

Equimillion Super Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)

Illawarra Grange Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Creator Of Our World

It may simply come down to a lack of opposition for Creator Of Our World, who heads the market in what looks a weak Super Maiden.

The main dangers appear to be Divine Heights, who was a well-beaten runner-up on debut at long odds, Overshadow, who was plain first-up after previously finishing behind Creator Of Our World, and She Can Salsa, who arrives off a 10-length defeat in maiden company earlier this month.

Creator Of Our World had every chance at Kembla Grange last start but still ran well in finishing third, just lacking the turn-of-foot of the quinella.

That followed a seventh in a metro maiden on Heavy ground second-up after opening the campaign with a runner-up effort over six furlongs on June 20.

His best performance came at the fourth start of his first preparation when finishing runner-up in a metro maiden over 1400m, and with plenty in his favour here, he should get every chance under an in-form Zac Lloyd.

Illawarra Grange Best Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Powder Man

Finding a standout on this program isn't easy if looking outside of several odds-on favourites, and at least a few of them look vulnerable at their current prices.

On an each-way basis, Powder Man is the runner to side with after a meritorious first-up fourth at Doomben in an on-speed dominated race.

His previous preparation ended with a runner-up finish over this distance in a Rosehill Highway after also resuming from a lengthy spell.

The six-year-old has been remarkably honest throughout his career, with his only finish outside the top four coming when resuming on Heavy ground at Grafton a few years back, while his second-up record reads two wins, two seconds and two fourths.

Returning to his home track after placing at his last provincial start carrying 1.5kg more than he does here, Powder Man can give this a real shake with even luck from barrier six.

Illawarra Grange Value Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Glounthaune

The son of Kodiak showed plenty of ability early in his career, winning two of his first three starts in Ireland, including a Group 3 over this trip.

He never reached those heights for Bjorn Baker despite recording three metro placings, before showing encouraging signs at the start of his first preparation for Greg Hickman.

Glounthaune rounded out that campaign with a Midway victory at Randwick before an ordinary late spring and early summer, although his first-up BM72 effort at Warwick Farm this time has since been franked by two subsequent winners.

His latest defeat over 1100m can be forgiven after covering ground in a strong midweek sprint and, over that short trip second-up as a 70/1 chance, there were no market expectations.

This is a significant class drop and, with a kinder draw and the rise back to 1400m expected to suit, Glounthaune comes into calculations at a big price.
