Bendigo Tips July 30

Grogans Machinery 3YO Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)

Bendigo Value Bet - Race 1 No. 1 Brilliant Bull Ant

The most experienced runner in the field, Brilliant Bull Ant has demonstrated improved form in recent starts.

The gelding arrives on the back of consecutive second-place finishes, including in metro company at Sandown Hillside eight days ago.

Competing over 1200m, the pick was ridden cold before finishing strongly down the outside after jumping from barrier nine.

Beaten just under three lengths on a Soft track that day, the gelding shaped as though the extra 100m he encounters here will suit.

The switch to wet tracks has appeared to suit in his three turf starts this preparation and, although a wide barrier isn't ideal, any easing of the forecast Soft 5 would aid his chances.

Bendigo Roughie - Race 2 No. 3 He Xiangu

Improvement is expected from He Xiangu after an encouraging debut effort at Seymour earlier this month.

The filly had shown ability in her barrier trials before finishing fifth over 1100m on a Heavy track.

Jumping from barrier six, the youngster raced keenly through the early stages and is expected to have taken plenty of benefit from the experience.

While beaten five lengths, it's notable the winner finished well clear in a race that suited runners ridden with restraint.

The quicker ground expected here shouldn't pose any issues and, with a more settled run from barrier six, she looks capable of springing a surprise.

Bendigo Best Bet - Race 5 No. 9 Our Justify

Consistent form this preparation makes Our Justify the runner to beat in this Benchmark 62 contest.

The filly has finished in the top three at all three starts this campaign, including a close third at Caulfield on her penultimate outing.

Competing over 1200m in metro company, the daughter of Justify was beaten just over half a length after jumping from the outside barrier in a race the runner-up has franked since.

Dropping back to country level, Jerome Hunter's representative finished second over 1300m at Seymour after leading in the straight before being run down late.

Her only previous attempt at this distance came in much stronger company at Flemington and, with Craig Newitt retaining the ride, she looks capable of going one better.

Bendigo Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Scoobartie

Back-to-back victories have Scoobartie chasing a deserved hat-trick at a track where he has already proven himself.

The gelding impressed when justifying short-priced favouritism with a dominant maiden victory at this venue on his penultimate start.

That form has worked out strongly, with the second, third and fourth all winning at their next starts.

The three-year-old backed that up with a two-length victory in a Benchmark 62 at Seymour after overcoming a wide barrier with another strong finishing effort.

Despite another awkward draw, the Jarrod Robinson-trained galloper has shown he can handle all track conditions and looks capable of extending his winning sequence.
