The Gold Coast hosts a quality nine-race Saturday program as the Queensland Carnival continues to build towards the major winter features.

Gold Coast Value Bet - Race 4 No. 6 She's Got Pizzazz

While it was a disappointing last-start effort in the Listed Hareeba Stakes at Mornington, there were also excuses for She’s Got Pizzazz, where the four-year-old was checked at a key stage and lost ground as a result.

The daughter of Zoustar now heads north and finds a very winnable affair here against her own sex.

While she has solid sprinting form, including a Group 3 victory over 1200m via her only previous attempt in the clockwise direction, She’s Got Pizzazz has always looked a 1400m horse.

The rise in trip suits deeper into the campaign and this setup appears more suitable than her latest assignment.

Against this opposition and back against her own sex, She’s Got Pizzazz profiles as a strong value contender.

Moet & Chandon Gold Coast Bracelet Tips (Race 5)

Gold Coast Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Single Red

Her New Zealand Group form in Australia has been franked through Ohope Wins, the subsequent Australian Oaks winner.

Single Red finished behind that galloper on two occasions prior to a short break.

The three-year-old appears to have come on if her April 25 return victory was any indication, saluting in style over a mile.

She looks likely to follow a Queensland Oaks path, although whether she is effective beyond 2000m remains to be seen.

Anywhere from a mile to 2000m looks ideal and, at set weights against a modest group of fillies, Single Red appears perfectly placed to open her Australian account with a win.

XXXX Bat Out Of Hell Tips (Race 6)

Gold Coast Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 11 Tonkin

The 1000m distance is often a specialist trip and that could easily be the case for Tonkin, with all four of her wins coming over five furlongs.

The Godolphin mare has been freshened since two 1100m runs to open her campaign.

Tonkin was only narrowly beaten by a fellow Godolphin galloper in the first of those before disappointing slightly in the latest after never settling following early interference.

That March 14 performance was the only occasion she has missed the top two and she has since returned to the trials with a Randwick heat win on April 21.

Tonkin should settle handy to a strong tempo and gets every chance to atone here.

Tab A.D. Hollindale Stakes Tips (Race 7)

Gold Coast Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Half Yours

It shapes as a cracking edition of the Hollindale Stakes as the Queensland Carnival builds through this 1800m Group 2 weight-for-age feature.

Half Yours may not be peaking here, with the Doomben Cup likely the race where we see him at his best.

However, the five-year-old is suited rising to 1800m after his lovely return in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes over seven furlongs.

The Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup winner was still doing his best work late over a trip that looked short of his best distance.

The pattern of that Randwick meeting also worked against Half Yours and this setup appears far more suitable second-up.

Australian Turf Club Trophy Tips (Race 9)

Gold Coast Roughie - Race 9 No. 11 Navyonthehighway

As mentioned with Tonkin, the 1000m distance is often a specialist trip and that looked the case for Navyonthehighway when resuming at Eagle Farm on April 25.

The mare settled off the speed and never found a comfortable rhythm over the shorter journey.

Despite overcoming some traffic issues, Navyonthehighway was doing her best work late and through the line, recording the fastest closing sectionals of the race.

She receives a sharp weight drop for this Listed affair, carrying 6.5kg less second-up.

Exposed form suggests she is best caught early in a preparation, with all five victories recorded either first or second-up, and she looks dangerous at a big price.
