Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 7 September Born

On ability, September Born is clearly the starting point in this race, and he returned to the trials with a win on August 17 despite switching off quickly late.

The entire has raced only once this year, finishing down the field in a 72+ over 1200m on April 1, but there were clear excuses after he bled from both nostrils and was subsequently tipped out.

He had still shown plenty through the spring of 2025, including runner-up finishes first-up and third-up, with that preparation opening with a pair of 1400m attempts before he came back to six furlongs.

His only previous try over 1000m at Belmont came on debut when producing a slick win as a late two-year-old, while the April failure is the only time he has finished outside the top two when resuming.

Brad Parnham has partnered September Born throughout his career, including for a Listed victory at start three, and the pair look well placed to make an impact first-up.

Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum Series Ht2 Tips (Race 5)

Belmont Roughie - Race 5 No. 3 Later Alligator

There was support for Later Alligator at a double-figure quote when resuming at Northam on August 6, but the race setup gave him little chance from back in the field.

The 1100m was on the sharp side and a tearaway leader forced him to chase from a long way out, with the first two home enjoying much more favourable runs.

He is better suited stepping to 1300m second-up and, while unable to build on his upset New Year's Day victory, he remained competitive through five subsequent summer and early-autumn appearances, most of them in Westspeed events.

His main failures came on testing winter tracks last year following back-to-back Listed attempts, so any improvement from the current Soft 7 would be a positive.

If the middle-to-wider lanes are playing favourably for backmarkers at Belmont on Saturday, Later Alligator is worth including at a big price in an open start to the quaddie.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Silent Diva

Silent Diva looks overdue for her second career victory after producing an eye-catching runner-up finish at Belmont on August 15.

She rattled home to record the fastest final 200m of the entire program behind all-the-way winner Lord Shiva, who subsequently franked the form by bolting in at 72+ level last Saturday.

There were also genuine excuses third-up when an apprentice rider left her with an enormous task, while that followed a second behind the handy In Confidence, who went on to win a 65+ at Belmont next start.

The form around her continues to stack up and, although she is untried over 1400m, this looks a suitable One Metro Win contest in which to test her at a distance she appears ready for, with her breeding also suggesting the trip is within reach.

Barrier four gives Clint Johnston-Porter every chance to settle her within striking distance and Silent Diva looks well placed to finally convert her consistent form into another win.

Morley Growers Market Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Belmont Value Bet - Race 8 No. 8 All Grunt

The two key contenders in the Belmont finale appear to be All Grunt and The Crimson Pirate, with the latter a deserving favourite after producing a brave first-up second here on August 15.

The Crimson Pirate had previously won at Listed level second-up over this distance at Ascot in February, so further improvement would make him difficult to beat.

All Grunt appeals as the value alternative, however, having been three-times Stakes placed as a three-year-old before finding winning form over 2000m during the summer.

His July 18 return contained plenty of merit in unsuitable circumstances, while his latest run on August 8 is worth forgiving after he failed to handle a Heavy 8 and also covered ground.

From a lower draw, with a softer run in transit and 2.5kg less to carry than last time, All Grunt can improve sharply and he can be supported on an each-way basis here.
