The son of Deep Field takes the eye here seeking his second victory of 2025 having scored over this distance in Class 5 company at Bunbury at the start of February.

The gelding raced on a good 4 track when returning from a spell that day and has encountered similar underfoot conditions in all three subsequent starts.

While the pick failed to shine at Pinjarra subsequently he returned to form with a close second in a similar race to this over this course and distance just under a month ago.

A change of tactics saw the four-year-old race from the front prior to fading in the closing stages over this distance at Belmont subsequently.

Adam Durrant’s representative boasts a good barrier in four here while he has forecast underfoot conditions and the distance to suit here also.

Clint Johnston-Porter’s mount is expected to return to be ridden with more restraint than was the case last time and looks value to record his sixth career win.

The three-year-old demonstrated ability in three starts last prep including when runner-up over 1000m at Belmont on debut.

However, the pick has demonstrated improvement this time around including when breaking her maiden in impressive fashion over 1200m at Pinjarra on her return to action last month.

The youngster jumped at short odds racing from off the pace prior to coming home four lengths clear of her ten rivals on that occasion.

The selection has duly gone on to win both subsequent starts including when delivering an on pace victory stepped up to 1400m here at the end of last month.

Those two victories sandwich a success by nearly two lengths in a Class 1 event held over this course and distance on a good 4 track.

The form of that contest is working out well and returning to this distance the daughter of Nicconi looks up to defying a double-figure barrier to continue her winning run.

Trevor Andrews’ filly made the perfect start to her career when saluting by nearly two lengths in a 1000m contest in January.

The selection had demonstrated improvement in her trials prior to recording an on the pace success on a good 4 surface on that occasion.

The youngster was spelled following that effort with the $110,000 yearling purchase finishing runner-up in a 400m barrier trial at Belmont ahead of her return to action.

That return to action saw her defy the strong in the market Yes Queen to score by just under a length when the pair faced off in the Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1000m here last month.

The daughter of Bivouac carries a kilogram more in this contest but has plenty in her favour with the third home that day Talkanco also set to re-oppose here.

A wide barrier is a slight concern for Shaun O’Donnell’s mount however the extra 100m she tackles here is expected to suit.

The four-year-old has been impressive at lower levels winning six of his eight starts to date including from four at this course.

The gelding won two of his three outings last prep with both of those victories coming over this track and trip including when racing first up in a Benchmark 72+ handicap.

The pick’s sole defeat that prep saw him lose out by just under a length when placing second in a Benchmark 78+ handicap here at the end of November.

Notably that effort came over 1200m with the son of Maschino spelled following that defeat when jumping at $1.70 on a good 4 track.

Trained by Bernie Miller he showed up well in placing second in a couple of Belmont barrier trials prior to resuming with a length victory over this distance here at the end of last month.

The selection maintained his unbeaten record over this distance that day and he looks up to continuing his progress with a first Group race triumph.
