Fremantle will secure an important win over Carlton but not without a few nervous moments. 

The Dockers need to keep the momentum going with one of the top nine sides to miss a spot in the eight. The Dockers hold on to 7th position with a win-loss record of 13-6 and come off a comfortable 49-point victory over West Coast. 

Carlton are out of contention and in 12th spot with a 7-12 win-loss record. The Blues were blown away by Hawthorn in the first quarter last week but outscored the Hawks after that to go down by 24. 

They will need to defy a streak this season that has seen sides in the bottom half of the ladder lose 33 of the past 34 against sides in the top half. But the Blues have been solid in the clearances in contested possessions in recent times and can match the Dockers in the middle.
