A spot in the Miami Open final is on the line as local favourite Coco Gauff comes up against Karolina Muchova on Thursday.
Gauff has endured a turbulent season, but she's fought and battled her way into a maiden Miami semi-final, winning all four of her matches in a deciding set. A Florida local, Gauff had never played her best tennis in Miami, but she's growing with confidence each match and there's a feeling like a title run could be written in the stars this week.
Muchova meanwhile continues to operate at a very high and underrated level, coming into this clash with a brilliant 18-3 match record for the year.
However, I can't ignore the H2H for this matchup. Gauff has won all five previous meetings between the pair, with four of those coming in straight sets - including earlier this year at the Australian Open, when the American was nowhere near her best level. Gauff can handle Muchova's variety and the Czech, for whatever reason, can't seem to break through her defences - or take advantage of her serving yips. At even money, I'll take Gauff, with another stake on Under 22.5 total games.
"I definitely think that, every time I play her, it's a tough match, and I expect the high level that she's going to bring, like she does every match," Gauff said on facing Muchova. "Honestly, I know we kind of know what we're going to do to each other, and it's just about who can execute it better."

Gauff hasn't been anywhere near her best across the opening three months of the year, but she can make up for lost ground by reaching the Miami final for the first time.
The 21-year-old was demolished by Elina Svitolina in the Australian Open quarter-finals and has suffered surprise defeats to the likes of Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and Elisabetta Cocciaretto this season.
There was more disappointment in Indian Wells, with Gauff forced to retire with an arm injury against Alexandra Eala.
However, Gauff has shrugged off any injury concerns in Miami, grinding her way into a first semi-final with four three-set victories over Cocciaretto, Alycia Parks, Sorana Cirstea and Belinda Bencic.
Gauff held firm after a shaky second set to close out a 6-3 1-6 6-3 over Bencic - her fifth win in seven career meetings against the Swiss.

Muchova is quietly putting together a stellar season and is firmly on track for a return to the top 10.
Staying injury-free has always been the biggest hurdle for Muchova, but she's remained healthy across the opening three months of the year and the results have flowed.
The Czech made the semi-finals of Brisbane and the R16 of the Australian Open before surging to a maiden WTA 1000 title in Doha.
After a R16 loss to Iga Swiatek at Indian Wells earlier this month, Muchova has rebounded strongly for a first semi-final in Miami, dropping just one set on her way to the final four and defeating the in-form Victoria Mboko 7-5 7-6(5) in the quarters.
