Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina square off for the third time this season and for the 17th time in their careers as they battle it out for a place in the Miami Open final on Thursday night.

With this contest, Sabalenka and Rybakina take the lead for the most career meetings between active players - and if this match is anything like their showdown in the Indian Wells final a couple of weeks ago, then tennis fans are in for a treat.

Sabalenka saved a championship point on her way to the title in a deciding set tiebreak, going a little way to avenging her loss to Rybakina in the Australian Open final at the start of the year. Sabalenka has enjoyed a relatively comfortable draw in Miami, not needing to face a top 25 player en route to the final four, while Rybakina was forced to dig deep and recover from a set down to conquer the in-form Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals - her fifth win over the American in the last seven months.

We know what we're going to get from these two - big serving and mammoth hitting from the back of the court. Both players are in supreme form, so another close contest beckons in the 305. The majority of recent meetings have been tight, while Rybakina has won two of the last three - and was one point away from winning all three. Makes sense to take the Kazakh at a +1.5 games start, with another stake on Over 23.5 total games.

"I think it's definitely going to be a battle," Sabalenka said about the prospect of facing Rybakina for the 17th time.
"It's always a battle, always a fight, always a challenge. And I think we push each other to the limit, and we always bring the best tennis. I hope that it's really enjoyable for you guys to watch us play and I'm super excited (to be) playing her again."
  • Rybakina has a 2-0 record in Miami semi-finals
  • Rybakina has won two of the last three meetings
  • Rybakina has covered a +1.5 games line in eight of the last nine meetings
  • Rybakina has a 9-5 record in her last 14 matches vs No. 1 ranked players
  • Sabalenka has a 7-14 record vs top two players
  • Rybakina has a 4-0 record in her last four semi-finals vs top 10 players

Sabalenka vs Rybakina Head To Head

Sabalenka leads 9-7, but Rybakina has closed the gap lately, with the majority of their recent matches being tightly fought.

Aryna Sabalenka Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 21-1
  • WTA Miami Record: 18-6
  • Current Ranking: No. 1
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2023)

It's been a near-flawless start to the season for Sabalenka - expect for one big loss, that might sting for a while.

Sabalenka has won 20 of her 21 matches in 2026, but missed out on an Australian Open title for the second straight year, going down to Rybakina in a quality three-setter.

Deciding to skip the Middle East swing last month, Sabalenka returned to action in Indian Wells and clearly hadn't missed a step, beating the likes of Victoria Mboko and Naomi Osaka before saving match point against Rybakina to emerge triumphant in a classic final.

Keeping her momentum going in Miami, the World No. 1 is back into the semi-finals as she looks to defend her title. Sabalenka has enjoyed a somewhat comfortable draw, with Qinwen Zheng the only top 40 player she's had to defeat en route. The Belarusian emerged a 6-4 6-4 winner over a gallant Hailey Baptiste in the quarters.

Elena Rybakina Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 21-4
  • WTA Miami Record: 16-5
  • Current Ranking: No. 2
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 2 (March 2026)

Rybakina has elevated her level to the point where she and Sabalenka are clearly setting the benchmark on tour.

Closing out 2025 with a WTA Finals title, Rybakina carried that momentum into Melbourne, claiming her second Grand Slam crown at the Australian Open with a victory over Sabalenka in the final. While illness disrupted her Middle East swing, she quickly rediscovered her rhythm, producing a strong run to the Indian Wells final, where she had championship point over Sabalenka before succumbing in a final-set breaker.

Rybakina has maintained her incredible level in Miami, where she has again looked composed and efficient. A two-time runner-up at the event, she progressed to the quarter-finals without conceding more than four games in a set, dispatching Yulia Putintseva, Marta Kostyuk and Talia Gibson with minimal resistance.

However, Rybakina needed to raise her level for the challenge of Jess Pegula in the last eight, coming back from dropping the opening set to prevail 2-6 6-3 6-4.
