Inter will be looking to return to the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals when they come up against Brazilian side and 2023 runner-ups Fluminense in the R16 on Monday at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

It hasn't been pretty, but Inter did enough to top Group E and secure their spot in the knockout phase of the Club World Cup, meaning new boss Cristian Chivu remains undefeated as manager. Fluminense have also battled their way into the R16, with two 0-0 stalemates against Dortmund and Mamelodi Sundowns either side of a victory over Ulsan Hyundai enough to see them progress.

All signs point to minimal goals here. Fluminense have gone Under 2.5 goals in 13 of their last 18 matches, including four of their last five, while Inter haven't lost a game in which they have scored since January, winning 21 and drawing nine. A low-scoring Inter win with a clean sheet is the most likely outcome.

Inter confirmed their spot in the R16 with a 2-0 victory over River Plate after the Argentine side had a man sent off, with Francesco Esposito and Alessandro Bastoni both finding the back of the net in the final 20 minutes.

Defence is key for the Brazilian outfit - they've only conceded two goals in their last five games, and they came in the same game in a 4-2 victory over Ulsan.
