While all eyes will be on the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal as they battle for the Premier League title, equally as thrilling and unpredictable is the relegation battle each year.

In the 2024/25 season, Southampton have already been relegated after just 31 matches, with the Saints now having to prepare for a season in the Championship.

Leicester City romped back into the Premier League at the conclusion of the 2023/24 Championship season as they were crowned champions. Despite this, they are the among the favourites to go straight back down at $1.00 with Ladbrokes.

Ipswich, who came up in the second automatic promotion spot, are right next to them at $1.01 while - as mentioned - Southampton are anchored to the bottom of the ladder and have already been relegated after a terrible season.

Leicester and Ipswich are the favourites to go down at this stage. Ipswich could have really ignited their hopes as they led Wolves 1-0 in their clash after beating Bournemouth the week before. However, they were eventually beaten 2-1 by the Wanderers, while they allowed a 2-0 lead at Chelsea to disappear as they held on for a point in a 2-2 draw. They are now 14 points short of safety.

The surprise club near the top of the odds is Manchester City, who's 115 charges remain hanging over their head. There's a chance City could be docked a substantial amount of points by the end of the season, which is why their odds are $13 despite sitting in a high spot on the ladder.

Teams like Man United, Everton and West Ham have been poor this season but, fortunately for them, there are sides that have been a lot worse.

It's often thought reaching 40 points is enough to secure safety, so keep an eye on the ladder as you make your relegation bets this season.

Of course, it is worth bearing in mind that Ipswich are the more likely than Leicester to avoid relegation. From here, Ipswich would need 19 points to reach the 40-point mark. With only six games and 18 points left to secure, teams will not need 40 points to survive this year.
