It's fourth up against sixth at CommBank, with the Wanderers having the chance to leapfrog Victory if they can emerge victorious here. Western Sydney head into this showdown on a five-game unbeaten streak, winning four of those fixtures, while Victory have won just four of their 13 games since Patrick Kisnorbo's sudden departure mid-season.

With this in mind, we're backing the Wanderers in the Double Chance market as our best bet. Nicolas Milanovic, who has scored eight goals this season, returns from suspension, which is a huge boost for the Wanderers. We'll also have a smaller stake on the hosts to win this game outright too, with Victory only winning one of the last seven meetings between the teams.

  • Wanderers are unbeaten in their last five games (winning four)
  • Victory have won only four of their last 13 games
  • Wanderers are unbeaten in six of the last seven meetings between the teams
  • Wanderers have beaten Victory in four of the last seven encounters
  • Wanderers have won their last two home games
  • Victory have won just one of their last six away games

Head To Head

As mentioned, the Wanderers have avoided defeat in this H2H in six of the last seven encounters, including a most-recent 2-2 draw back in Round 12, where a Ryan Teague penalty in the 87th minute earned Victory a point at home.

Western Sydney Wanderers Form

No team has picked up more points than the Wanderers over the last five games, which has seen them rise into sixth spot on the ladder.

After clawing their way back into the derby with a 3-3 draw against Sydney FC, the Wanderers have compiled a three-match winning run, including defeating Macarthur FC (2-1), Central Coast Mariners (4-0) and Perth Glory (4-1).

Having previously struggled at CommBank earlier in the season, the Wanderers have won their last two games at the venue and will have their tails up for the arrival of Victory on Saturday night.

Western Sydney Wanderers Team News

Huge boost for the Wanderers as leading goalscorer Nicolas Milanovic returns from suspension.

Melbourne Victory Form

Victory have somewhat steadied the ship since Kisnorbo left the club, but I think it's safe to say they haven't really been producing the football they were at the start of the campaign.

With just four wins from their last 13 games, Victory remain in a solid position in fourth spot on the ladder - but new boss Arthur Diles knows his team need to start closing out more games.

Victory come into this clash unbeaten in their last four outings, including a most-recent 3-0 triumph over the Mariners last week, with Nishan Velupillay, Bruno Fornaroli and Zinedine Machach getting on the scoresheet.

Melbourne Victory Team News

Goalkeeper Jack Duncan remains the only injury concern for Victory ahead of this clash.

Verdict

The Wanderers are one of the form teams in the competition and they can claim a positive result against a Victory side who have won just four of their last 13 games.

Wanderers have won four of the last seven meetings too, so also have a smaller stake on the hosts to win outright.
