Perth Glory vs Brisbane Roar Tips & Predictions - Glory to prevail in bottom-of-the-table clash

Look, it's probably not going to be the best game of football in the world, but these two teams desperately want to avoid the embarrassment of finishing last, which could lead to some entertaining moments.

Perth are usually a better side at HBF Park - they've gone unbeaten in three of their last five home outings, including defeating league leaders Auckland FC and drawing with Sydney FC. Brisbane meanwhile still have just one win for the season from 18 games - however, they have two games in hand over Glory, so they have a chance to make up some ground and draw level on points with their wooden spoon rivals here.

I'm backing Glory to get the job done at home - they managed to defeat Brisbane on the road earlier this season and enjoyed recent success in this matchup. The Roar have improved somewhat over the last few weeks, but a long trip to Western Australia will probably prove too much.

Glory have won the last three meetings between the teams in all competitions, including a 1-0 triumph at Suncorp back in Round 9.

Obviously it's been another horror season for Perth - they've won just two of their 20 games this season and have a points differential of -32.

Glory enjoyed a week off with the bye in Round 22, allowing them plenty of time to prepare for this home clash with one of the two teams they've defeated in 2024/25.

Shockingly, the other side Perth beat this season was ladder leaders Auckland, prevailing by a 1-0 score at HBF Park in January. Glory's last outing before the bye resulted in a heavy 4-1 loss to the in-form Wanderers.

Josh Risdon is suspended for this game after picking up five yellow cards.

Anchored to the bottom of the ladder with just one win from 18 games, it's been a nightmare season for the Roar.

However, they have a chance to leapfrog Perth from the bottom of the ladder if they win this game due to Glory's shocking goal difference.

Brisbane have three draws and one defeat from their last four games, drawing 1-1 against Melbourne Victory, Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix and going down 3-1 to the resurgent Newcastle Jets.

Florin Berenguer is set to miss this game through injury.
