- 2025 State of Origin New South Wales vs Queensland Man of the Match Predictions
- New South Wales - Dylan Edwards
- Queensland - Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
Payne Haas took the Man of the Match award in Game 1 of the 2025 Origin series with an all round effort in his 58 minutes on the park for the Blues. Haas had 18 Runs for 156 Metres (61 post contact), 3 tackle breaks and made 30 tackles without missing. A reward for a consistent effort with no other player having a break-out game.
In Game 2 it was the new QLD captain Cam Munster that took out the award, inspiring his team to a nail-biting 26-24 victory in his first game as the leader of the state. Munster ran for 112 metres on 15 runs which included a try, a line break and 4 tackle busts.
It is likely the winner of the decider in Sydney will determine from which team the player of the Match and the player of the Series is picked from.

New South Wales - Dylan Edwards
18+. T&Cs apply
Dylan Edwards helped orchestrate a Game 3 boilover in the 2024 Origin Series which saw his name etched in history as MOTM. He has been one of the most consistent performers across all forms of footy over the past 18-24 months and is line once again to be put on a pedestal in the Origin arena.
Edwards has run for 216 metres so far in this series and has scored 1 try, setting up a further 2. He is one of the most important players defensively, barking instructions at his players all game long.
Queensland - Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
18+. T&Cs apply.
The Hammer has been ripping it up in club land leading the NRL with 15 tries from
14 games played. He scored twice in game 2 and now gets his chance to stake a claim on the fullback jersey for QLD.
Tabuai-Fidow’s support play is exceptional and his speed hitting the line is tough to match anywhere in the league. If QLD are to win, there will need to be individual brilliance from multiple stars including this guy from the back.
Verdict
The Man of the Match for the decider is set to be decided by which No. 1 plays best, Dylan Edwards or Hamiso Tabuai-Fodow
