Manly Sea Eagles vs Gold Coast Titans NRL Round 12 Tips & Prediction - Manly defence is the play at Brookie

Manly Sea Eagles are tipped to overcome the depleted Gold Coast Titans in a defensively focused Round 12 NRL clash. The Sea Eagles have won six of their last seven, keeping opponents to 18 points or less, and are favourites despite missing several key players. The Titans’ attacking woes persist, having scored exactly 12 points in four of their last five defeats. Expert recommendations include betting on Under 51.5 total points, Titans Under 18.5, and Reuben Garrick to score a try.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Gold Coast Titans NRL Round 12 Tips & Prediction

Fozball and Manly's attack will be put through the test when the depleted hosts welcome the lowly Titans to 4 Pines Park on Saturday night.

Defence. Defence. Defence. That's the focus for this game in what could prove to be a potential banana skin for Manly, but I just don't trust the Titans to take advantage. So, I'm backing the Unders and because it's Origin and things can get a little silly, a rather out-there bet which will be explained in due course.

But first to the main plays of Under 51.5 total points and Under 18.5 Titans team points. The Sea Eagles have been lighting up the competition under Kieran Foran, winning six of their seven games, piling on the points and remaining rock solid in defence.

However, Manly lose Tolu Koula and Haumole Olakau'atu to Origin, while Lehi Hopoate - who has scored a try in every game under Foran - is also sidelined due to suspension. Throw in the continued absence of Tommy Turbo and that's a big hit to the Sea Eagles' attack. The Titans are horrendous with the ball at the moment, so I'm loving Under 51.5, which seems far too big for this spot.

I'll also take Reuben Garrick for a try, with the Manly centre holding a strong record in this matchup.

But now for the ridiculous bet, which should be taken with a small stake - and that's Gold Coast to score exactly 12 points. Incredibly, the Titans have scored 12 points in four of their last five defeats. With Manly keeping their opponents under 18 points in all of their games under Foran, you've got to think Gold Coast will finish around that range again - making the $8.00 on offer very appealing.
  • Sea Eagles have won six of their last seven games
  • Sea Eagles have held teams to 18 points or less in their last seven games
  • Titans have scored Under 18.5 points in eight of their last 10 games
  • Titans have scored exactly 12 points in four of their last five defeats
  • Titans have seen Under 51.5 points in eight of their last nine games
  • Sea Eagles have seen Under 51.5 points in five of their last six games
  • Reuben Garrick has scored 12 tries in his last 10 games vs Titans, along with 1+ try in five of his last six outings vs teams in the bottom four

Manly Sea Eagles Form Analysis

I think Manly can lay claims to being the second-best team in the competition right now behind the Panthers.

Kieran Foran has completely revolutionised things at Brookie - he simply commands respect and has got this team playing inspired footy, winning six of his seven games, with the one defeat coming by two points against Penrith.

The Sea Eagles lit up Magic Round with a destructive performance against the Tigers, dominating from start to finish in a 46-18 victory.

Jason Saab scored a hat-trick, while Haumole Olakau'atu confirmed his starting spot in the Blues side with a barnstorming display, running for 262 metres off 21 hit-ups and making three line breaks. Speedster Tolu Koula also scored a magical opening try that helped him earn a debut Origin call-up.

Gold Coast Titans Form Analysis

What was Matty Johns thinking investing in this football club...

I just can't see any upside in the Titans and they've started the season as poor as every, registering a 2-8 record, with those two wins coming vs fellow battlers the Dragons and Eels.

Gold Coast bring a four-game losing streak into this clash. They actually showed a bit of fight against the Roosters, but they were blown away by the Knights' sizzling attack in Magic Round.

The Titans couldn't take advantage of their dominant field position in the fist half and faded badly in a 36-12 defeat.

Sea Eagles vs Titans Team News

Big changes to the Manly side.

Josh Feledy and Blake Wilson join the backline with Tolu Koula out with Origin and Lehi Hopoate missing through suspension.

Jackson Shereb starts in the back row in place of Haumole Olakau'atu, while Brandon Wakeham returns at hooker. Hugo Hart and Simione Laiafi join the bench.

Klese Haas gets a start at prop for the Titans, while Jaylan de Groot comes in at centre with Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Jojo Fifita away on Maroons duty.

Lachlan Ilias, Bodhi Sharpley and Adam Christensen are the new faces on the bench.

Verdict

Manly's strong defence should keep this game Under 51.5 points & the Titans Under 18.5 - with value on Gold Coast finishing on 12 for the fifth time. Garrick looks good to extend strong tryscoring record in this matchup.
